I dont know why everybody believes that a first car for somebody will always get wrecked. My first car was a 2000 ford mustang, and i still have it 4 years later, never wrecked. Can't go wrong with a Civic, Accord, or Acura RSX. If you want a 4 door car, go with a Ford Fusion, or Dodge Charger with the V6 unless you wanna have a hemi and have bad gas mileage and an easier chance to wreck.

Your first car should be inexpensive. Who knows what the future will bring and getting a worse car latter in life doesn't help thy old Ego. Also, getting a inexpensive first car will get you into basic maintenance, plugs, plug wires, etc.. and this will car over later in life. Given you will now have the proper tools things will be easier and more self gratifying because it is cheaper to repair your car yourself then have to go to a garage.

A good used Corolla, with a dealer's warranty. Very reliable, and reasonably priced.

A full size pickup truck. Used. That way when you have an accident, you wont get hurt as much. Also, trucks can take a lot more abuse ( hitting the curb, scraping the side of the yellow poles in the Taco Bell drive through, etc.)

i think a used car is the best way to go for your first car. not a really old one, but something like a 2001 or newer honda civic. great gas mileage, reliable, and affordable.

I would go the fuel effiecient route. More miles to the gallon is the best with gas prices.
