Unless I am mistaken there are democrats fighting in the war also ! I personally am offended by this . As I am sure those serving now are . Does that make the Republicans doing this traitors ? This does not help the troops in any way. I served for 7 years . My younger brother is on his third tour in IRAQ . Please call him a traitor to my face . Then give your soul to God your A$$ will be mine ..

the question was general . In this arena I read the traitor coment every day . I did not put the word All before Republicans . But look at the bashing . I am sorry for the anger that came out in the coments . I would like to see this insulting of fellow Americans to end . We can disagree without insulting .This is a direct question . If you are angry about it . I touched a nerve . This is good !

Their dictionary only has so many words/catch phrases. The key to the republican mindset is to stay "on message" and drown out opposition by incessant repetition. Therefore if you say "traitor" enough times...it must be true.

The majority of my family have been democrats and they have all served their country, from WW2 onwards.

These people who label and preach don't care about their country or about the troops. It's all one-upsmanship to them.

I hope your brother stays whole and well. He is serving his country and his country is proud of him. I hope he gets back safe and sound.

Huh? I'm a republican and I've never said democrats were traitors. Careful with the stereotyping.
By the way, the asking of this question was just to stir up peoples emotions and cause a huge debate which in the long run is pointless and ignorant!!! I think there's a war going on, if we like it or not doesn't really matter!!! I would bet all true Americans support the troops, they may or may not support the war which in the long run doesn't really matter, but all that matters is that the guys that are over there know that their fellow Americans support them 100 %
and aren't causeing problems over here while they are over there! Grow Up!

Any Republican that calls a Democrat a Traitor is stupid. I am a consverative and I hate it when names like Traitor are thrown at the liberals. I have friends that are Liberal and I know they have a different view of certain issues but overall we agree on many basic principles and the first one is we all want the country to thrive in the future. The only thing that is different is we see differing ways of getting there.

Anybody who assumes that All republicans paint all democrats as traitors isn't listening to what is being said but is falling victim to the spin of the media. The fact is that there are outstanding, patriotic, deeply committed, country loving people on both sides of the aisle. I am certain that we have more in common than we have dividing us.
All that having been said, it appears to those of us on the Conservative side of the aisle (mostly Republican, I admit) that those people on the Liberal side of the aisle (mostly Democratic, I beleive) do this Country deep disservice and damage by persuing an agenda whereby the Government is the primary problem solver in the lives of the individual. Social engineering and pacifist policy are the hallmarks of a society in decline. We cannot allow ourselves to appear weak and vascillating while those who hate us seek to destroy us. We cannot transfer the hard earned wealth of our middle class into the hands of people who refuse to even try to take care of themselves. I love my country and all those who defend and protect it. Thank you and your brother for your efforts, God Bless and keep you and him safe, and God Bless America

Not the troops.
They live and sometimes die because of old men and their battles in politics.
But some liberals want the war to go badly, even give out info that they know the enemy will use to gain their support.
If you support the NY times and Bill or Hillary, then I will call you a traitor.
That goes for Al Gore, John McCain, John Glenn, and Colin Powell.
They are all too wishy washy.

You are lumping us all together? I've never called a democrat a traitor. I have however called a left wing liberal a traitor, and I will not apologize. I understand the difference, so don't be so quick to attack.

Because these republicans are not patriotic and the only way they can prove to themselves and to others that they are patriotic is by putting down someone else by calling him/her a traitor. Don't you see it in every other sphere as well? That's the way they get their gloat. They haven't got much to be proud of independently so they need to put someone else down in order to feel good. Something like jealous teenage highschool girls, they must call other girls ugly in order to feel pretty. Does it make her pretty?

I like your last 2 lines. We need more Dems like you.

Very rarely, will you hear a Republican call anyone names, so if you actually heard it, it was a rare thing. Its the Demos, who are constantly calling names, namely our President!! And that offends many people also..
