Well first it would be big enough to fit 100 people. And it would have single family rooms. So that the people that are registerd with there spouse.(this means that both of them count as one person.)and also there children (that are under 21)may have a home type experince while they stay, they must work while staying at the shelter.(1 month to have a steady job or they will be escorted of the property) The location will be in a location that the bus route can go to, and most important in a clean and quite neiborhood.also if u cant make it by bus we will have complementery shuttles that will come and get you. WHERE EVER YOU MAY BE IN ARIZONA. Also every person that comes to my establishment will go through a drug&backround screening. This does not mean that they wont get in it means that they will go to a substance abuse class that this shelter will provide, and the backround dont WORRY!!! You are still WELCOME :) . All that means is that you will sighn a form that states you will not cause harm to anybody or you will be sent back to were you came from plus charges will pressed.(this goes for every person it this shelter.) But the best thing is same day acceptance so u dont have to call and wait for six weeks to a month. well thats my shelter OHH!!! almost forgot the name of the shelter is FORGIVENESS....

Having been in a shelter in a rough part of town-- Stricter enforcement of the prevention/prohibition of drug use would be good. I was in a shelter, and I shared a cubicle-sized room with a recovering alcoholic. I have never used drugs. I had a life-threatning illness, and was unable to work, no family in a position to help. Many, NOT ALL, of the people used drugs, and they smoked crack one night. It was sickening, but I had nowhere else to go. Anyway, some towels and soap might have been good. Counselling and an on-site job program might have helped a lot of people. On the other hand, if people get too comfortable, they will not be so motivated to get the heck out of there.

Oh, Street Children, the least of my brothers...GOD BLESS THE CHILDREN... The place they called "shelter" is a dilapidated pushcart made of wood. At daytime, they used it as their means of transporting their so-called "goods" that they were able to collect for the day, separating them by using big plastic bags... segregating the plastic bottles from the cartons and cans. Once they were caught in the rain, they would just stop near the street, empty the plastic bags with plastic cans and bottles, and used the empty plastic bags as their protection from the rain keeping watchful eyes to their "goods" that were being scattered by the wind. When the rain stopped, they would hurriedly and patiently gather their "goods". Before the end of the day, they would sell their "goods" to the nearest junkyard. And the money they earned, they would use to buy food that they could afford. Some would even save a portion for the following morning. But some even reached the point of buying rugby to forget their miseries. Well, some were lucky enough to meet good Samaritans who gave them something to eat.
At night, they used the cart as their crib wherein they would sleep sometimes with painful empty stomachs. They would sleep using the cartons or newspapers as their blankets. But the warmth of GOD’s protection was engulfing those blankets they had. Oh, it's so hard to finish this without shedding tears. Please, pray for these people. They need your prayers a lot. Always remember what the Lord had said... WHATEVER YOU DO TO THE LEAST OF MY BROTHERS, YOU DO IT UNTO ME. AMEN.

should be a home. Not those big places where they could accomodate the whole city. Should have no more than 4-6 people in the house who can communicate well with each other. Sexual preference should be taken on notice. Not everyone are aware that gay/bisexual people are normal or ok.
Advisors should be there 24/7 to guide them and they should be let off early and let in early in the evening too so they can search for work, etc.

The perect shelter would have individual rooms for each person. There would be room for pprivacy. It would be well staffed and would include counselors. There would be a big kitchen with lots of good, tasty, healthy food. There would be opportunities for the residents to improve their lives. For example they would recieve job placement or job training. There would be life skills training such as how to do a job interview, and how to dress. I would volunteer to give them makeovers and color consultations to give them more conidence and help them feel like they belong in mainstream society and in the job market.

a place where homeless, domestic abused or even runaways can go and be safe. they can stay as long as they need and there would be counselors to help them get back on their feet - help them find employment, clothing, housing etc.. they would not have to leave every morning by a certain time. they can come and go as needed thru out the day. there would be food served for breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks thru out the day. each would have their own room for privacy. for those with addictions...they would be helped into getting treatment.
