To begin, I am a white 19 yr old female, I grew up in a multi-cultural city, but went to a private school with mostly white ppl and asians. I have friends of different ethnicities, mostly a few asians. I am attracted to males and females alike, but I have only dated one guy, the one I am currently with. I cant imagine, however, being with someone of a different race, I am never attracted to black people, or asian men. I find asian girls attractive, and south americans, but I dont think I would ever date anyone like that. Is that a horrible thing?

Not racist at all. We all have personal preferences, and believe it or not, they often change over time. I'm Mexican, and in high school, I only dated outside my race. I primarily dated Blacks and dark-skinned Puerto Ricans, or Filipinas. That's what I liked. When I moved to Texas for college, I began dating women of my own ethnicity(Mexicans), which I loved because of the cultural and traditional similarities I had never enjoyed before in a girlfriend.

I ended up marrying a Mexican woman, and I'm totally happy... Although now I lust after White women. Go figure!

No, I think most people are most attracted to people of their own race. That's why you usually see couples who are the same race. However, sometimes people like the exotic as well and that's interesting and cool as well. It isn't racist either way. The important thing is that people aren't denied opportunities and friendship and the right to express themselves as human beings because of what they look like or what their culture is, not that you aren't physically attracted to them. So, no I'd say it doesn't make you a racist at all. Just pretty average.

No not racist at all. I had this conversation with a white guy once and he told me that I was limiting myself because I only date black men. But, that is what I am attracted to. Like some people like short people, or thin people or heavy people. I like black men. It's just my preference and if white men are yours that is OK.

Nothing wrong with that. People say they want to date tall men, or short women, or good looking or intelligent...why should race be different? This applies only to dating, I would not say that attitude is ok concerning people in general. I wouldn't date out of my own race either. (Except maybe an asian girl)

I don't think its racist. You just prefer to date within your own race. There are actually quite a few people who feel the same way and have friends of all races

I'm a black female and I do not think that is racist. But I would love to get my hands on a white male!

It is a preference if you are not attracted to them. However you said you were attracted but you "Don't think (you) would ever date anyone like that." Which makes it racist. You think of yourself as better than people "like that"!

Time to face reality and realize that you are a racist!

thats not being racist. we all have a particular kind of person we are attracted too. just because you cant see yourself dating a certain person due to race doesnt make you racist. its not different to someone saying, i dont like blondes i wouldnt date one.

If you are just not attracted to them, then no, it's not horrible. If you said, I don't want to date him, he's black, then that's a different story. We have to be honest to ourselves, and just like some people ar attracted to other, some arent, and thats ok!

You are not a racist, you associate with all races. You just have your personal preference on who you will date.
