Orange Before Bed

Like someone else said, the acids in your stomach are VERY strong. The orange would just dillute them.

But an orange might help anyway. Fiber, fructose, vitamins, these are all good things. And if having one before bed means skipping the ice cream, then that is great.

But it is not because of some voodoo pseudo-chemistry.

Your stomach acid is plenty powerful on its own. The amount of acid added by an orange would be negligible.

If you eat an orange before bed, be sure to brush your teeth. The acid left on the teeth could be damaging.

I agree with Diana R. Diuretics, like citris will do very little other than help you lose water weight; and grapefruit can even give you a headache over night.

Get away from the keyboard; take a walk or something. It's so much easier to concentrate on something without the glowing distraction of a monitor in your face.

I run circuits at a local softball field; when something annoys me I run longer. In the end I feel better because of the exercise and I know it helps my body.

Um so no. An orange has less acid than your own stomach.
