I just got new glasses about a month ago. Seemed fine at first but after working all day ( I sew for a living) my eyes are unable to focus. Dr. checked for cataracts and I do have them but Dr. says they are not by any means bad enough to cause the problems I am having. Driving me crazy. Any ideas?

Does your problem only happen after doing near work for an extended period of time (sewing)? If that's the case, the near work is essentially making your eyes work too hard; aka straining them. Think of it this way, if you held your hands in clenched fists for an extended period of time, you would have trouble opening your hands back up because the muscles were strained and essentially stuck in that position. The same thing can happen to your eye muscles where they get "stuck" in the position of looking up close, making focusing at any other distance difficult. You did not specify age but if you are talking about cataracts I'm going to assume that you need help to see up close. If you are using reading glasses or some sort of near add (bifocal/no line/progressive) to help you do your sewing, maybe the Rx is incorrect for your near needs. Unfortuantely doctors can be wrong...
Before going back to your eye doctor or going to another optometrist for a second opinion, try taking breaks during your sewing to relax your eyes. Look at things at different distances than your sewing (further away) to try to give your muscles a break. If this doesn't seem to help - go back or seek a second opinion, there is no reason to suffer. Good luck!

There may be any number of things that could cause blurry vision. One possibility is the type of work or hobbies you do. If you have a job doing close work all day long, eye strain can result. And eye strain often means headaches and/or blurred vision.
Another related problem is called "convergence insufficiency." This means that one's eyes to not focus easily when doing near work, like reading or sewing. Because the eyes strain more than normal to focus at close objects, blurred vision occurs. I have this problem, and it is annoying.
It could also be an astigmatism, which the eye doctor probably would have noticed. Because the surface of the cornea is irregularly shaped, the eye constantly strains to make a clear focus. And when the eyes get tired, blurred vision occurs.
And there are other problems that could cause blurred vision, such as diabetes. It might be wise to have a physical exam.

I would be back talking to the doctor. Something is not right and you need the prescription adjusted or a more in depth examination of your eye to see what is going on.
