Well, hopefully when you get them pulled they're putting you under, or giving you something for the pain. It's not going to be very "enjoyable" though! :) I had all four of mine pulled. They put me on some vicodin for the pain, and that really helped. Eating cold things like the popsicles, ice, and cold water is good - be careful about the sucking part though - that could lead to dry sockets they have to go in and fix and that's even MORE painful! Just remember - no straws, cigarettes or anything else that involves you sucking in. You'll sleep a lot too from the painkillers, so that can help as well!
Good luck - and you can "enjoy" those chipmunk cheeks! :D

No. Once you get to the doctors office they will give you a shot that will numb the areas so you wont feel it.
Now I see since you are a female, you have more pain threshold than a male. I remember having my 4 wisdom teeth pulled and took tydenol. After a rest of a couple of hours I had to get the kids from school and cook ect. Now my male husband had only 1 wisdom tooth pulled and you would have thought the way he was laid out in the bed that they rearranged his whole mouth!
He was moaning and complaining. That's men for you!

Puddings and cool things like popsicles are things that can make the difference. Making the removal more enjoyable usually means some general anesthesia. It is not nearly as hard on a person if they cant see the 4 people leaning on their chest at the same time!

I just all mine pulled Yesterday Morning. Today my cheeks are a little tender but it doesn't hurt nearly as bad as I thought it would, I haven't taken any Medicine in 36 hours either. I was vomiting alot all day yesterday but the Dentist said it might have been from the Anesthesia.
My advice is to suck on Ice Chips they felt so good. Then if you do get sick then you won't have much to get rid of.

Best thing is not to worry about it,that was the worse part for me,I kept worry about it and after the procedure,it was nothing,I had 4 pull at the same time and 2 were impacted,if I knew then what I know now it would have been a breeze.

I had an operation when I got all of my wisdom teeth removed at once. I could'nt eat and solids for 4 weeks. I think the best thing to do is get REALLY stoned before you go, lol.

The night before, go out and buy a fresh pineapple, cut it and wash it all. Then you have to eat the entire pineapple. Because the fruit contains some natural numbing agents it will make the extraction site have less swelling and pain.

i'm surprised that your dr. didn't give you pain meds. I would call and check into that. Someone else suggested drinking milk shakes. If I remember correctly when I got mind done they specifically said not to drink out of a straw. Something about the sucking and clotting factors.

Pain pills from the DDS and ice cream
I had mine pulled and after a day it was ok
And....whoever said women have a higher pain threshold is misinformed, it varies amongst individuals, it is not gender specific
