I have recently started to regret not putting more effort into learning French when I was in elementary and high school. However, I also recognize that the French I was being taught was not really practical French. Furthermore, it was "Parisian" style French instead of the Quebecois French I encounter much more often.

I have started to listen to French radio and read it whenever I can but I can't seem to get past the basic jist of what is being said and even then I'm not sure if I'm always right. I would like a workbook or series of workbooks that will help me improve my knowledge of Quebecois French. Could you recommend a book or series?

Thank you!

That's a tough one: Many TV and Radio programs in Quebec use Parisian French and sometimes a rather toned down Quebecois. I do know of one book:

French Fun : The Real Spoken Language of Québec. I believe they have it at Amazon.

I was raised bilingual. I would not recommend a book to learn a language. Short of being submerged in a Francophone setting, I would recommend the "Pimsleur" method to learn the language.
