has anyone used essential oils for thinning hair and does it work for new hair growth?

I have been using it for a short time (couple months), and while I can't necessarily say that my hair has actually grown thicker (I probably haven't given it time yet) it has given my hair a softer, fuller texture which definitely gives the illusion of more hair. And it smells wonderful, so I feel like I get an aromatherapy benefit from it, too.
