It's not what people hear, its just fact! They are vicious & have split personalities. Check these sites out, & face the truth. This is fact, not fiction! As you can see, these pitt bulls had been in the family for years and showed NO signs of aggression and all of a sudden, they snapped!

"Pit Bulls attack more people than any other breed." Bite statistics actually show otherwise. More popular breeds that are generally considered to be "nice dogs" top the majority of lists. It may seem to the general public who is constantly bombarded with disturbing reports on Pit Bull attacks that this is the only breed that harms humans with any great regularity. However, the fact remains that Pit Bulls are hot news items. Dogs of all breeds and mixes bite and attack people all the time, but it is mainly the Pit Bull bites that get sensationalized. A report about the local Golden Retriever that attacks and maims a child isn't considered newsworthy. No one wants to believe that any dogs--even the fuzzy, cute, popular ones--are capable of biting. It's much easier to blow up and sensationalize a story about a vicious dog when it's a member of a breed who's reputation preceeds it. Pit Bulls are already considered the demons. All the reporters have to do is stand in front of the camera, look horrified, and say, "A Pit Bull did it".
Do you know that 90% of all deadly dog attacks are 100% preventable. 95% of all pit bull attackes are by dogs that were badly breed and treated so badly they truned into killers. For every stroy saying a pit bull killed someone there is one that names a breed that is a good family dog. I own a pit, he is a trained handicapped dog, the woman who trained him as now trained 8 more pits one going to a 10 yearold child. A boy was attacked last week in his yard by his family dog. The dog had been raised by the boys mother from a puppy. Never had anything like it happened before, he was alwasy sweet. The dog belonged to my neice the boy is my great nephew. He needed sugury to save his eye. The dog was a black lab, the second biggest family dog in this country. The woman next door was attacked by her english bull dog. A six week old baby was killed by a pomeranian. Here there was two dog attacks both was reported by the same reporter as pit bulls. Two families lsot thier pets. It was layer found out the reporter out right lied, know he was doing so, to make the story better. It was a reterver and it attacked a policeman, luckly the cop shoot him. The facts most pit owners quote come from the CDC, ASPCA and different animal controls. We don't make them up becasue we know we need all our ducke in a row to try to overcome haterd

Yes I do! Because you can't judge an entire breed by the actions of pitts that were raised by idiots who think the sole mission of this breed is to be tortured, starved, teased and forced into fighting. It's only a few minutes, but this is worth seeing
http://gprime.net/flash.php/thepitbullproblem. I've always had either American PitBull Terriers or Staffordshire terriers even before they became the breed to bully. Most of my dogs visited hospitals and seniors for years. In fact one was a search and rescue dog (recently retired) and another is training in bomb detection. I get disgusted hearing how bad this breed is when in fact I have seen more aggressive chihuahuas than pit bulls.

I find it amazing that so many people are killed by pit bulls every year when the CDC and ASPCA both say there as only been556 deaths due to dog attackes by all breeds in the past 15 years. This put the chances of you being killed by a pit bull somewhere around 0.0005%. 3 People were killed by pit bulls last year. The dogs were breed and trained to be danderous so they could fight or gruad drugs and illegal guns. BSL is a flawed concept from the moment it is conceived. In most cases the dogs are targeted leaving the owner, which is the responsible, rational thinking party, out of it.
Some impose fines along with their laws but are often not enforced to the maximum so the owner gets away with a slap on the wrist.
Dogs are not the problem and BSL does not reconize this. People are the problem and until we find a way to punish people for their neglectful actions which allow dogs to bite and terrorize the public we will never stop the problem.
First problem is, take one breed away, these people will find another breed to replace it.
Since the APBT bans the Rottweiler is now on the rise as the most popular breed.
Now these dogs are taking heat from the general public and the BSL supporters. Again they are restricting the dogs and not the people.
BSL can be compared to gender profiling or racial profiling. Simply because a dog appears to be a dog on the restricted list it is treated as one.
What if you were driving down the road and the police took you to jail, sentenced you, and placed you on death row just for looking like a certain ethnic group? BSL does exactly that to dogs.
So why is it then that more BSL laws are implemented daily? God forbid a person have to take responsibility for their irresponsible actions and BSL supports these people by not placing very harsh punishments on them.

God I hate them. I love pit bulls had a uncle that breed and trained them for police work. He did it for years and as over a 100 of them out there and not one ever turned.. They were trained and treated rigth. I have no clue why a dog that was called the nanny dog and was used by people to watch over their children and homes as become this monster. We should Ban the people who due to their cruelty to this breed as caused all this trouble. What breed will be next and trust there will be another one. Will we ban all large breeds. To give up freedom for safety makes us not deserve ether

I heard that from my mom when I got a male pit. The only thing he would attack was a biscuit. Its the way you raise them and treat them. He is a loving dog..But what gets me is she has a Rottie and is the best dog in the world...People need to worry about other problems in this world besides what dog is mean and what dog isnt...

yup! and let's thank the 'news' for pointing out everytime someone gets bitten by one (that was not raised properly). I've been bitten by a toy poodle but i never met a pit that wasn't sweet and smart.
there are bad humans and good humans. should all humans be punished/banished because of the bad people? didn't think so
