divorce is the hardest thing in the world to deal with. it seems like a constant battle with my own children and the fear that they will one day leave me and go live with their father.
my best answer to you, is to do what will make you the happiest. if you want to stay with your friends in your last year of school then that is what you should do. just sit down and explain your true feelings to your mother and that you still love her, and that you just want to graduate with your friends that you grew up with. if she loves you, and i am sure that she does very much, then she will understand. make it known to her that you will spend as much time with her as you possibly can and that you will talk to her everyday no matter what. i hope that this helps you in your decision and i know that it is hard, and i will say a prayer for you my dear. good luck and may God bless you always.

Since you are in your senior year of high school in the town you have lived all your life, perhaps your mom would consider delaying her move until graduation.
If this is not possible, perhaps you could stay with your dad until graduation. Provided they are both good parents (not abusive) and are both able to have you living with them, staying where you are would be the least upsetting and most productive until you graduate.
If all else fails and you have to move right away, I suggest setting up an account (free) on MySpace.com and start meeting people online now who live in the area to which you are moving. That way, when you get there, you will already have set up some of your own support system so the transition will be easier.
I wish you the best of luck in the coming months hon.

If you are concerned about your parents feeling like you picked one over the other, you can explain that your decision to stay in LA has to do with your desire to be near your friends and everything you know. Or are you concerned about living with your father? And do you plan on moving out after high school so it's all about just one year or is this for longer term? Any chance you may decide to move in with your mom after your last year in high school?

If your Dad's staying in LA, stay with him and visit Mom when you can. If Mom gives you a guilt trip about this then she's thinking of herself, which is often what parents who are divorcing are doing. It's kind of a selfish time for them - I know, I'm 45 and have been through the whole, divorce/selfish phase.
Also, since they are still in the works on the divorce, please make sure they make provisions for your college education. Good luck and God bless.

If you could do this, stay where you are now and finish the rest of the school with your friends and then if you want to move to where mom is, go do that. At least that way you can graduate with your friends.

f*** em both. make them split the cost of your rent and get your own place with some of your L.A. people. it would be cheaper for them than having you live with em... it's true.
