1st off let me say something 2the girl who ans 1st. u CAN'T always tell... did u kno that jessica simpson sometimes wears a wig? aside from her hair extensions that are ALWAYS in.
Moving along... when u do get it in just remember to moisturise ur scalp every other day. or else u'll be 1 of those girls forever tapping their hair cuz it's itching. Make sure u comb the hair through every night & it would help to tie your with a silk scarf
try to stay away from water! lol with regards 2ur hair of course

The beautiful thing about hair is that we all have it. Meaning I, respect all textures but to answer your question your scalp will be tender and you will want to lay low on the manipulation. ie.. brushing, pulling or wrapping up in a hair band. The next thing is to use a mild shampoo in between your weave to cleanse your scalp. Lift the individual rows when rinsing so all of the shampoo is off your scalp, so is doesn't itch later and irritate. then condition the ends to comb out easily. Once in awhile, maybe every week or so use a professional deep conditioner and wrap your head in a plastic bag then a towel on top of that, so the heat from your head will condition nicely. Rinse and set for future looks:)

I had a weave several years ago and I handled it much the same as I did my regular hair. I didn't take care of it myself but went back to the shop to have it washed and set every two weeks. I would roll it in between visits if needed. I never washed it myself or blow dryed it. I let my hairdresser do that. Get a good quality of hair and you shouldn't have a problem with it looking fake. And check out the work of the hairdresser before you let her do your hair. Remember.....you pay for what you get.
