Boxer puppies should not look weird and pointy-headed at any age! This is a powerful breed that needs a great genetic temperament and a lot of exercise and early training or they can be dangerous.
A Boxer may not be the right dog for you - it would help if you described your lifestyle - Have kids? Apartment or house? How much time do you have to spend training, exercising and grooming the dog? Are you home a lot or do you work 10 hour days? Do you like a quiet or hyper dog?
Find a good breeder referral by going to www.akc.org or talking to people at dog shows.
http://www.akc.org/breeds/boxer/index.cfm
You can also find info about the breed clubs on the akc site - they probably have a rescue group where you can get an older dog for less money. The best breeders will be members of their breed club, promoting healthy dogs with great temperaments. They should ask you a bunch of questions to make sure their puppy will be getting a good home. If all a "breeder" seems to care about is whether your check will clear, you can be sure he won't care a week later when the pup is dying from distemper or parvo and you want your money back.
Whatever you do, DON'T go to a pet shop, a flea market or buy one sight-unseen off the Internet!!!! You'll pay top dollar for what is usually a poor quality puppy mill dog. And you'll be supporting one of the cruelest industries in the country. The breeding animals are often kept in deplorable conditions - spending their entire lives in small wire-bottomed cages. They probably haven't been vaccinated against contagious diseases or tested for any health or temperament problems or genetic diseases - that costs money and cuts into their profits. A female is often bred every time she comes into heat. When her poor little body can't take it any more, she is often clubbed in the head and tossed into a dumpster or an open ditch. Most puppy mills ship their pups to pet stores at wholesale prices and many pups die before they even get there.
These so-called "breeders" have now figured out that they can use the internet to ship a dog directly to the customer and thus make more money by cutting out the middleman. If you buy a dog from out of state, good luck getting your money back if there's something wrong with the pup. These people count on you becoming instantly attached to the poor little guy and being willing to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars at the vet to treat whatever is wrong with him.

Temperament is far more important than looks (the shape of a 5-week old puppy's head will change anyway). Find out everything you can about the breeder andn make sure that they are ethical and not just in it for money. Don't get a puppy if you can't meet at least one of the parents. Don't buy a puppy that was taken out of the litter too soon (earlier than 8 weeks). Be sure the puppy is healthy, well taken care of, and has had some socialization and introduction to a variety of novel situations.

NEVER BUY A DOG ONLINE!!!! Make a deposite when you see the puppy in person
no they should not have a pointy head lol. If they do then avoid those pups. These are some standards....
should have a slighlty arched skill....
broad blunt muzzel
UNDERSHOT bite (bottom sticks out more than top)
wrinkles on forehead
when standing...they should be standing straight (back legs may be pointed out depending on where you get them)
stomach slighly tucked in
colors come in fawn (brown), brindle (striped), and white

A pointy head? Dude, boxer dogs have flat heads. the top of them is flat, and the bottom is just a little lumpy. My bro has one and you might want to look at a full grown one. If you are'nt looking for a big dog, them don't pick a boxer. They look little and cute, but they get big. But they are still cute then too!

With boxers, you want to make sure it comes from a breeder who raises dogs with good temperaments, who have tested for hip dysplasia and heart problems (both problems in boxers). Then pick a color you like!
