Absolutely! They're an invasion of privacy. Just imagine being in your own home, listening to music, and having your house shake and windows rattle from the jerk next door and his subwoofers; I called the cops.

I thrive on deep tech dance music and as my job involves a lot of driving, I feel that my sound system in the car is more important to me than the car itself.
It doesn't sound distorted if it is set up correctly, its not just a case of plugging it in and cranking it up, my system has 3 amps (4 inc the head unit), 11 speakers all in and a total of 2300 watts rms, it was set up using digital level meters and it sounds absolutely awesome,(sound deadening everywhere too)
I respect the fact that others dont want to hear the thump thump thump so I dont have it loud when in residential areas (even tho' there is no law here to cover that),, but i do every other time like country roads or motorways and its my car and my musical preference so tough titties to those who dont like it..

Let's just say I'd rather not share their choice of music so loudly and in my bones. When I can feel the music coming down the street before I can see the car then I become annoyed. Everyone has the right to enjoy their own music. I'd like it better if they didn't share it with the world. And I guess I was guilty of playing my music too loudly when I was younger. Guess that's why I have trouble hearing now.

No - they are irritating because they are improperly tuned, causing annoying vibrations.
Overtuned subwoofer users are compensating for something with vibration. A properly tuned stereo would allow you to hear all the music, every note.
They overtuned sub's need to run out, buy some Viagra and get their stereos properly tuned

in case you get some that fairly hit complicated after a lengthy time period stuff begins to break down, after my 04 Monte SS i'm no longer putting sounds in any extra new autos, as an celebration my device cluster had to get replaced two times because the bass had it sticking, there have been squeaks and rattles, and after about 2 and a 1/2 years of putting my rear view reflect decrease back up the glass easily separated (reflect fell off and glass became nevertheless glued to the decrease back of it) so if its new off the lot do not do it (except its a lease)

Definitely not. It is probably because the sound or level of low effect frequency (LFE) from your sub is quite high or it produces more bass sound than the others (tweeters). Adjust your equilizer until the sub sounds become balance and more pleasant to the listener.

For me, it has nothing to do with the music. I just believe that it's absolutely unnecessary for anyone's car radio to be that loud.
