I don't think that would be a good idea, so why do people think it's okay for the illegals to pick and choose which laws they want to obey or not obey?

vmv1970: Then why do wealthy royalty from overseas almost always seek medical attention for serious matters in the USA? I cannot recall a time a person of both wealth & notereity from another country shuffled off to Mexico for treatment, can you? Oh by the way, the word you are trying to say is "MOOT", not "MUTE". God, where do they FIND these people?!?!?

If he pass the requirements he can be a doctor. And American would welcome him--he would have no problems getting a work card--but he has to pass the tests. We have a shortage of Doctors. And no he can't just come in--Doctors have to be certified.

Yes they break the law when they cross the border, and I think we can agree that they do it to be able to survive and allow themselves and their families to have basic necessities required to survive.

Depending on where you live a car may or may not be required to be able to travel to work, the store, etc. However in the majority of states illegals are not eligible for driver licenses. So again it's a matter of survival or breaking th law and driving without a license. If my kids need food, I'm going to get in the car, go to the store and buy them some. Do some illegals drive needlessly, yes, but others do not.

Many illegals work for companies that do not pay under the table and they have taxes deducted from their checks just like you and me. Again in this case they are performing a job to feed thier family and have no control over how the employer pays. I also know illegals that do their taxes at the end of every year using an ITIN. There are illegals that don't pay paxes, just like citizens that cheat on their taxes.

Everyone makes choices every day for a lot of different reasons. Sometimes the ends justifies the means.

The point that I am trying to make is that when it is a question of survival and putting food on your family's table and you just can't do that in your own country, the law becomes secondary. Right or wrong until we help Mexico become a country that can support itself people will continue to choose survival over the law. I know that these scenerios don't apply to all just some.

Their is noway they could set up a legitimate practice, Illegal is illegal I don't care if they have a degree, in order to practice they would have to pass the state exam, before they could practice. And prove where they were educated.

P.S..... enlightenment you are a total 3 rate as*shole our government did not set up a concentration camp at Getmo in Cuba, and those men were not tortured, they get 3 meals a day and the Koran, and the red cross has been their, as well as politicians to look over and coddle the slime buckets. When the politicians that go there, here what they have found out what these men and their terrorists org. want to do to the U.S. and others their hair turns white and the soon change their minds, about the treatment of these people, and most of the politicians that have gone their are bleeding heart liberals like you, being tortured is what those terrorist do to our soldiers and innocent civilians, no body is cutting of the heads of those prisoners at Getmo. You are the stupidest liberal I have ever heard.

I don't recall anybody saying that illegal aliens could "pick and choose" which laws they want to obey. Being in America illegally is already punishable by deportation; making it a felony is just an added "feel good" measure that our legislators can take credit for it when elections come around in November. If illegal aliens get picked up for another offense (i.e., "choose" not to follow other laws), they are often deported.

Besides, your medical argument misses one important fact: doctors must be licensed in the areas where they wish to practice. A Mexican doctor does not automatically qualify to practice medicine in the United States; s/he would have to qualify by submitting evidence of proper education and experience to earn a license.

What the people answering this question are saying is true: if anybody wants to work in the US, (s)he's gotta be legal; however, the same goes for Americans (or Brits) who go roaming the world and, yes, end up in Mexico or Perù (or you name it) and as tourists expect to be treated on equal terms as a resident.

Many of them are English teachers (which by the way is not bad -- it's helping to spread the language) and work ILLEGALLY according to local laws.

So, there you go; if you want justice, you've got to want it on both ends!!

You will find that if there is a need for doctors and skilled professions there is always a loop hole - to be honest a mexican doctor who is already fully trained, and assuming speaks English well enough (others need to know what he says or writes in order to administer correct drugs etc), is very likely to get a work permit and have no need to enter illegally, so it is a bit of a moot point.

Why do people like you get so into upholding the laws when it pertains to poor and needy people, but when your Government itself breaks laws such as setting up a ******* concentration camp in Cuba to hold randomly collected people, some 14 year old children, and torture them you have no concept of law whatsoever.

You have hate in your heart. You should investigate your predjudices a bit more, figure out why you are that way and get on the side of real freedom and justice.

Right now, you are just a pawn in thier game brother... just a ******* puppet.

A lot of people missed your point totally. Good point. But good luck trying to convince anyone on the other side. The lib's are completely close minded to any and all attempts at logic and reason (this is why they are lib's in the first place). The only way to have a chance of 'connecting' with a lib is to make them feel, they are completely run by emotion.

Some one will say I'm comparing apples to figs here but we have many American doctors who during Malpractice suits are discovered to be practicing without licenses at all or expired or revoked. I'm sure there are More who haven't been discovered yet is that any different?

Answer to second part
The same way Americans choose the laws they want to obey.

No. There are laws and criteria and pre-requisites in this category. First, they should enter US soils legally (ie. immigrant visa). Then, they should qualify with the US standards of professions. In other countries (third world), even if you are a license Doctor, in US, it is a one level or so lower and they will not recognized your license. You continue studying for some more requirements and then pass all the examinations required.
After getting all pertinent studies, licenses, immigration status, etc., then, I believe that there will be no problem.
