The Bible, Quran, and a lot of simular books are based on truth, but not word for word the truth. I'm sorry if this offends anybody, but it is true. Second it was written by man.
Now your question would be If I don't believe a Holy Book is 100% factual then how can I believe in God?
The answer is actually simplier then you think.
See even though I research many religions I have always felt a higher power guiding me in life. No, I can't realy explain it.
However Creation therory is a scientific therory.
Gravity is a scientific therory.
We all trust the therory of gravity don't we? So how come some people have a problem with people that believe in the creation therory.
No, I'm not saying we should all believe in it. There are other therories you can believe in, however some people choose to believe in 1 over the other.

The problem with that is The Bible was written by man. And most of it was written long after the time where the stories take place. So to take the bible word for word as truth is crazy. The bible has been edited over thousands of years. Things that people didn't want in their for their own reasons were taken out. The stories were changed around to make them more appealing to the beliefs of the people who did the editing. I believe in God. I always have and that is my choice. I don't think the bible is 100% accurate. But even if the stories are not true the message is a good one. That's more important than trying to prove what is real and what isn't. If believing that there is something there with you watching over you helps you be a better person and makes you happy. Whether it's God, spirit, or anything. That can only be a good thing.

The bible was written by men.
It's been translated so many times who knows what was in the original texts or if the translated versions even have the same positive menaing they once had.
There is a difference between spirituality and religion. Ponder that.
Whether you believe in a higher creator or not doesn't mean you don't believe in doing and/or being good.
If you ever have the time read some philosophy, read "Science of Mind", there are so many books that talk about a universal soul.
Free-will means you can believe what you want- with or with out evidence....

That is a hard question to answer since God's existence is not inherent to the religion set around him. The religion is set as a stepping stone to understanding that our understanding is not relevant to God existing.
What I would say is this,
1) Everything written is inherently flawed. Proof: Perfect Truth is the harmony of creation. You find that truth by shutting your mouth and not saying a word.
2) Everything written was made by man. Proof: Is God man? More importantly, did man write those words that you so ardently believe in or do not believe in?
3) A non-believer is a person who sees belief as a barrier. Proof: Any belief bars you from understanding the truth. If you believe one thing then you can never believe anything that goes contrary to that belief without voiding it.

Hello Brother.. :)
I would say, that you are asking me to prove something that you have not yourself read, then how can you believe what I am saying is the Truth..
On the other hand..if you read it for yourself..than you can judge the Bible for yourself, if was made by man or God..
It would be like me asking someone about Moby Dick (just using this as an example) and asking if I believed if the whale was really white or not and was it a real story..could you prove it..I could not answer without reading it for myself..could I..
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ...

it gets asked of me all the time actually... usually I ask them what makes them think the Bible is wrong, and go from there. People have different reasons for disbelief so I wouldnt answer the same way always. If the non believer said they dont believe the Bible is true because of contradictions, Id ask them to show me some, and answer them. If they said they dont believe the Bible is true because there's no evidence, then I'll show them some. Anyway, it depends on why the person is a non believer.

I cant prove the air is around us either, I can feel it and so these books were written, by men from the Spirit of God! These books have helped humanity for thousands of years, who are we to question what has worked forus? See the collapse of society as we know it, you have seen nothing yet! The evil that will overtake us will be disastrous!

I would tell them that to understand and believe the bible, they have to have the right mindset and if they are asking in a sarcastic or condescending manner then they are already not in the right mindset. If they are really interested then I would tell them the most effective thing to do is start doing research on their own. No one can make up their mind for them about Christ.

Thats weird because... I thought the bible WAS made by man? Anyway... I would say that I don't need to prove a thing to them. If they are non-believers, what do they care? If they really want to be proven something, they can do their own research.

God's Holy Spirit tells the believer the bible is the truth.
Proof is for sceptics. If you don't let the holy spirt guide you, you won't believe in God or the bible.
