I have six weeks to lose hopefully 15 to 20 pounds. Please answers besides "Eat right and exercise." How should I go about this? I have started walking for about thirty minutes a day and have been cutting back on food. Will this do it for me? I've read several places that walking is some of the best exercise possible. I walk pretty briskly and up hills.

Try the south beach diet. It worked for me. 35 pounds in 2 months. It basically tells you what to eat and what not to. Is fun and there´s a lot of options so you don´t go crazy trying to lose those pounds. It consists of three phases. However, the first phase is the most important one. In this phase, you are NOT allowed any carbs whatsoever. It´s hard, but it rips of 12 - 15 pounds in TWO WEEKS guaranteed. There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.

2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.

3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.

i did my own version of the atkins diet and lost a lot of weight. when high protein, low carbs is the plan, most people think yes all the bacon and cheese i can eat. so untrue. i didn't cut out fruit or veggies at all. for breakfast i would have crystal light(no carbs) half of a grapefruit( acid speeds up metabolism) and 2 egg whites with mozzarella cheese and spinach. Lunch-turkey and swiss on high fiber wheat bread( the fiber is what you subtract from the carbs to get you total carb intake) with some fruit or veggies, or a salad or chic breast. dinner-any meat preferably chic or fish with steamed veggies. pork rinds are carb free and make a good sub for pot chips. eat in moderation. they sound gross but i love them. if you have a chipotle near you, you can get a burrito in a bowl minus the rice and tortilla. subway has awesome salads and carb friendly wraps... just look at the labels. try not to consume more than 20 carbs a day. i mean the bad ones like white bread, potatoes and pasta , rice even corn, carrots and bananas aren't the best fruit to eat. but remember subtract the fiber from the amount of carbs to get you total number. pick one day a week to indulge. i lost 35 pounds( i also did a lot of sit ups. oh yeah get one of those huge jugs they sell that holds 64-74oz of water and drink it every day . bed bath and beyond sells them

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming,running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions,pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull,leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

Try the Cabbage Soup Diet!

Okay, are you ready? Here we go:

1 head cabbage, shredded or chopped
2 large onions, chopped
16-28 ounces canned tomatoes, chopped
2 green peppers
4 stalks celery
1-2 packages Lipton onion soup mix, or any dry onion soup mix (optional)
black pepper
any fresh herb(s) of your choice, chopped
6 carrots, sliced
1/2 pound green beans, sliced on diagonal
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar (optional)
Put all vegetables in a big pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, stir in the soup mix (if desired), and boil gently for 10 minutes. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer until all the vegetables are soft. Stir in the black pepper and chopped herbs (saving some for garnish).
Eat as much of the soup as you like, as often as you like. Drink as much water as you like and non-caloric drinks including coffee, tea, and herbal teas.


Here's what else you can eat, and when:

DAY 1: All fruits except bananas.

DAY 2: All vegetables, raw or cooked. This includes baked potato with a LITTLE butter.

DAY 3: Fruits and vegetables, but no potatoes or bananas.

DAY 4: Bananas and skim milk--eat as many as 8 bananas and drink as many as 8 glasses of skim milk.

DAY 5: Beef, skinless chicken, and/or fish--as much as 20 ounces, total. You can also eat 6 tomatoes. And you must drink 8 glasses of water. Don't forget at least one bowl of soup.

DAY 6: Beef, skinless chicken, or fish and vegetables. Drink 8 glasses of water and eat at least one bowl of soup.

DAY 7: Brown rice, vegetables, and unsweetened fruit juice.
