He is not in as much pain as you think. His pain if any will subside in a day or two. Don't let him chew on his stitches or play with them. Make sure he doesn't over do it for the next few days and make him as comfortable as possible. He will be fine.

Dogs have a higher tollerance for pain than humans, usually after the first three days a pup will usually perk up a bit remember surgery no matter how minor is still surgery so give him 3 - no more than 5 days before he picks up, whatch for infections they usually make the skin a little red and swollen around the insision and make sure he gets fluids they are esential in making a wound heal faster.

Take him back to vet. There will be no extra charge.
I just had MINE neutered. He was up and running around 6 hours later and in no pain.
I only had to give him one pain killer,
The vet gave me some pain medication for him but he only needed one.
If your dog is an older dog, they heal more slowly but still, he should not be suffering like you describe.
He may have a suture that is poking him inside or a lesion.
The vet will have to fix that.
Call them and tell them what you told us.
It MAY be due to his age. I don't know but if he is young, something is wrong.

If he seems to be in constant pain you should call your vet and ask him if this is normal and if so for how long would he be in this pain. My dog was acting like he was in pain for only a day but it seems like he was on some medication for pain prescribed by my vet.

He should have been sent home with pain medication! We send our patients home with 4 or 5 days of pain control after surgery. To not do so is inhumane. Call your vet or the emergency vet and insist on pain control!

Maybe you should take your puppy to vet to see if there is something the vet can prescribe. Pain medication for a puppy ! I'm sure it will make your dog alot happier

I'm in constant pain just thinking about it. I think this is a question best answered by the vet.

He will be fine. LEAVE HIM ALONE and let him rest. Puppies heal quickly and will be back to normal in a day or two. You can call the Vet and get pain pills but he will be fine. LEAVE HIM ALONE!! People always want to hold the dogs and coddle them but REST is BEST.

When my dog got neutered i thought the same thing so i tried the cone but he HATED it so we ended up giving him a sedative. After we gave it to him he was a little more relaxed and would sleep so he wouldn't think about it. Now Jack (our dog) is all normal and it didn't do anything to affect his attatude after it healed. Hope this helps!!!!!!!!
