Actually this is meant as an apology for any perceived offenses and an actual question as to how I offended anyone when I asked what their purpose or drive was concerning living their lives. I really wasn't trying to insult Atheists or Agnostics. I truly wanted to know if you had your own ideas about life and how to live it. I am sorry if if came out wrong but please do not get defensive and presume everyone is judging. I am sure not in a position to judge anyone else. I wouldn't even want to have to be on a jury. Peace to All,Debra

That was not my intention I was trying to imply that I did not understand what it was and I apologize if I wrote that wrong.Thank you for your correction.

No apology needed, you weren't offensive. People should get off their high horses a little but and try to truly read a question.
This is Yahoo!Answers, it is meant for asking questions to gain knowledge. Lately it seems to be a forum where everybody has to fully understand other peoples beliefs before it is allowed to ask questions about it.
Keep asking, i like most of your questions :)

Hi Debra - I answered your question with a bit of humor (I'm the one who is here helping the others, but not really sure what the others are here for). Anyway, I didn't take offense to your question. I thought it was a reasonable one. I'm somewhat of an agnostic, because I can't really prove or believe there is or isn't a higher power... or something out there. I wish it was true... but even if it was true, well, then which religion out there has it right, eh? I was raised a Catholic... and was sickened by all their madness (well before the pedophile priest story came out). Anyway, your question led to a good discussion; that's what this forum is here to do. Peace to you as well.

You didn't write that question wrong. People accuse others as being offensive so they can make a big deal out of it and get their way. I have a few ideas on that question though. I'll answer it if it's still open. I really want to get started reading that book, A Purpose Driven Life. God bless you.
I've written more details than you have and I like to read more if it's about a question I desire to answer, so the person above me needs to get their mind working and actually read it if they want to understand it and answer it correctly, in the manner it was asked.
Wow - you have a bunch of open questions. I'll try and answer them all.

Don't worry. No matter what we do we can't help but hurt some people even if we don't mean it. I am sure you are forgiven. Don't take it too seriously -I do sometimes and know what it is like. I don't believe in any doctrine but I have my own thoughts and beliefs. These keep me going in the way that others use religion. I read about all religions. lost of psychology, literature, philosophy, art and many other things. In all of this I see truths that are the same but in different clothing. I don't know what answer that gives you. But I respect everyone in their beliefs except whenthe personally try to jam it down my throat.

Religion is not a part of my life. I still have a life and want to live it to its full potential. I do not believe there is a God because there is no evidence there is one or ever has been one. I have searched for evidence but the main reason I do not believe is the people who are constantly trying to convince me that God exists. I went to church as a child and believed . The bible has not changed. The church has. Why and how is this possible? Is the church wrong now or was it wrong in 1945? Which one was wrong? One has to be wrong. Can you tell me?

Your last question should go down in yahoo record as the longest a person as added on to your question.....Man I'm blind now from reading all that.
I didn't see anything wrong with your 1st question. That was a very good question that we will never get any good answer too.

Actually didn't see anything "wrong" with your question. When a person is involved in their faith you could be curious how others that don't believe in God live their lives. Hey, if we don't about each other how can we get along?

I wouldn't worry about it...some people are offended at the strangest things....like tell them they look nice and they're offended because they think you mean all the other times they look awful!

Instead of being offended, they could have come up with a some constructive answer.
