There is nothing wrong with answering a door in jeans. You can answer a door in shorts, jeans, sweats, a suit, a tux, a dress, a blouse, a shirt, shoes, sandals, a hat, sunglasses, a coat. As long as you aren't revealing anything.

Then it wouldn't be polite to go out in jeans, got ot dinner in jeans, work in jeans, anything in jeans. Man, if you can't answer the door in jeans, what can you do in life?

depending on the time of day and the occasion it is most deff very rude. If it just your friends then they should lighten up but it is better to look decent and proper for strangers as first looks always count. Leave the jeans for those who know you.

Your clothed, and your in the privacy of your own home, there's nothing "rude" about that. What I would say is inappropriate is answering the door in a bathwrobe.

No, it's not rude. If you were someone famous, it might be rude; if you were having a dress up party, it's rude, but as long as you have a top on, WHY NOT?
