You're obviously an Evangelical Christian. Did you know that the rapture was the invention of a preacher by the name of John Nelson Darby, who popularized the notion of the rapture at the end of the 19th century. So, this idea was not good enough for almost 1900 years worth of Christians, who had no concept whatsoever of the mythological event known as the rapture, and so clearly it cannot be a part of the faith for which the blood of the martyrs was shed. So all you bumper-sticker Christians and your little magic rapture fantasy party, well, you should all just quit babbling in tongues and become Presbyterian. Your bank account, and God's tithing plate will thank you.

I believe the best that Christians can do is to live a good, clean respectable life, and not allow ourselves to get caught up in the sins which do "so easily beset us". I am not convinced however, that it is possible to discern from the brief descriptions of the rapture given in the Bible, whether it will take place before, during, or after the great tribulation. Various verses seem to indicate differently. We are exhorted though, by Jesus, to be watching the skies. I am one who believes that the rapture will involve angels (extraterrestrials) quite literally beaming up true believers into their spaceships (UFOs), and escorting us to heaven (some other planet).

You obviously read just pieces of Bible verses pitched to you by your pastor but hasn't understood the whole theme of St Paul's letters. Read the epistles of the early Church Fathers, too.
