Bruce Lee is one of the greatest visionaries and intellects of the last 200 years. He not only knew one type of martial art he knew so many types of Kung Fu, and american kick boxign it was not funny. He developed his own type of fighting system. theres one guy i can think of who did that Pat Millitech but any idiot can re write an army training manual in close quarter combat add a few grabs and clenches and make it look like he created a fightings system. The people that believe the UFC is an athletic sport are morons. Put up against Temple Kung-Fu trained individuals or even people in a strict trainig redgiment of any real martial art could take out those freekin bonme heads that know kick boxign and brazilian jujitsu. I think its time for the UFC to take a hint and get some real talent. not jsut some big retards taht hit each other

He would get killed.

He's around my size and I am a Muay Thai fighter. I still have trouble against opponent that weight 50 lbs heavier than me so would everyone else. bruce Lee is a human, so there's no way he would do well in UFC at all! Only way he will do well is if he train someone but if he fight, he will lose!

Bruce Lee would get hurt very very badly. Bruce Lee never ever won a Martial Arts Tournament of any kind whatsoever. He did win a dance contest in California.

Bruce Lee never even completed his Wing Chun training to the equivalent level of a Black Belt. He stopped at the equivalent of a Brown Belt.

He was a very photogenic fighter possessed of sharp, dynamic movement, and his knowledge of camera angle revolutionized Martial Arts movies. Nevertheless he was no fighter.

not very well. Bruce Lee was a martial artist, but UFC fighters are actual athletes. Also Bruce Lee is only good at karate (not sure what type of martial art he did) and most UFC guys can do multiple styles.

Ok, I am not going to be an utter smartaleck and just assume that a) he'd lose because he's dead, or that b) he'd win by virtue of being *undead* (choke out a zombie lately, anyone?? *lol*). I will give your question the benefit of the doubt and assume he'd still be alive in the scenario.

Having said that. :) In a UFC Octagon, Bruce Lee would be toast, no question....not enough room to move, rules that *still* favor a ground-fighting game more than a standup one, not to mention size, weight, and AGE advantages, if Bruce Lee were still alive, he'd be an *old man*. A really athletic and gifted old man, but still a good 25 years older than Couture, who is only in his 40s and considered by many the old man of his sport.

I am NOT saying this to diss the UFC, or Bruce Lee, ok? Bruce may have died too young, but even so, absent his untimely death he'd be an old man if he were still around, and hardly able to "hang and bang" with the current generation of trained, pit-bull-wannabe bullet-heads. They're just too big, too young, and the "ring" they fight in is still smaller than a regulation boxing ring in *surface area* and has *twice* as many corners, duh...

It's comparing apples to oranges. That simple. It would be like asking Michael Jordan to come out of retirement, and then judging his athletic merit entirely on how well he do playing *pro hockey* way past the prime of his life. NHL is NOT NBA. And Jordan is no longer playing ball for a reason or three: injuries and old age have caught up to him, to put it politely.

Having said that. Eliminate the Octagon for a moment. Clone Bruce Lee so that he is the same age as Couture. Let them go at it in a *regulation sized* ring using *original spec* UFC rules, after giving the levelized clone of Lee *six months* prep time to adapt to a primitive sprawl and brawl, or ground and pound game (not even BJJ, by the way!), and see what happens....

Randy Couture isn't *that* much bigger than Bruce Lee was....and one could argue that Lee had better technique, at least standing up. So *that* fight, between an age-leveled clone of Lee and Couture....well, it would all depend on Bruce's level of preparation for the ground, wouldn't it? Or....Couture's willingness to take Lee v2.0 to the ground, versus trying to beat him at his own stand-up game....

But yeah, you kinda see the point to it all now, right? Times have changed, and while Bruce Lee himself was a dynamic and visionary enough person to change with them, point is, even without that *death thing* (which is really kinda hard to get over folks!) his age and small stature would kind of make his life hard....and changing the situation to make it fairer takes it further and further away from the scope of the Original Question , doesn't it?

Just saying....

probably not too well, there actually have been a couple of JKD fighters in the earlier UFC's and they got their butts kicked, that's one reason you don't see them anymore. The submissions (Judo, JuJitsu, etc...) would be too much for Bruce. Not to mention just getting smacked would probably make him want to quit. Jackie Chan was one of his stunt men back in the day, so Bruce probably wouldn't like dealing with the pain the UFC (or Pride FC for that matter) fighters would dish out on him.

Not the best. UFC is super agressive and to the point (confronting). Whilst Bruce Lee was fast and impressive i think his high kicks and excentric moves would be nullified by attacking and pinning done by successful UFC fighters. Put basically, he dosen't have enough room to move.

Against todays top fighters given that he has the same knowledge he did back then, he would lose.Bruce Lee was far ahead of the game for his time, but there was no organized mma back when he was alive. He always preached one should not be one dimensional, but the sport of mma has really evolved to a point where he would be at a severe disadvantage. Now if he had the knowledge of todays top mma athletes, I have no idea he would do very well with his skill and athleticism.

Bruce Lee was a very motivated, hard working person from what I have read on him. He would have worked hard to beat the Ultimate Fighter--something many of the young athletes of today lack--motivation and hard work. Not many people now a days have the work ethic Bruce Lee had.
