It is hooked directly to Cable. Nothing in between the coaxial cable and the TV. It just doesn't pick up the signal like it used to and all the pictures are snowy as well as the sound.

I also checked the Antenna/Cable selection to ensure it was set for Cable.

If you are lucky, it is nothing more than a loose connection on one end or the other of your cable TV cable. Check those. Also try another cable. The one you are using may be bad. Don't forget to check the connections where your cable enters your house. They may be loose or rusty. If you have any signal at all it is most probably one of the thinks I have mentioned. If you want to be absolutely sure it has nothing to do with your TV tuner, you might temporarily attach another TV and see what happens.

Does your TV have a "AFT" switch? Automatic Fine Tuning.

Check your cables and connectors - make sure they are in good condition and secured properly. Report weak signal strength to your cable company. Check you cable box - may need repair.

Other wise you may have a problem in the tuner (Chanel 3 0r 4)
but Aux input works fine.

Make sure the dvd/vcr is set to TV and not any other setting. Most of those things need to be on channel 3 or 4 to get a clear pic through it also.

Check the condition of the coaxial cable for wear, you may have water penetration.

call the cable company. it's their responsibility to make sure your signal is strong and clean. It could be a detached coax.

Also unscrew your coax wall plate. it could be detached there.
(people always forget to check there.) some cable operators get tricky by cutting the cable at the wall plate (you need to unscrew the plate to make sure).
