SO i had a 15 watt bulb in a 60 watt lamp, but its worked. What can happen if i leave it in there?

Excuse me it was a 25 watt not a 15. I made a typo

I don't think anything will happen. You just won't get the same brightness as you would with a 60 watt globe.
It's when you put a globe in with a higher wattage than recommended that you will start getting problems such as blown globes etc.

nothing will happen ! as long as you dont use a bulb higher than 60 watts in most lamps everything will be fine! however if you use the new flourescent tube lamps you can actualy get the brightness of 100 watts out of a flourescent 35 watt bulbwithout a huge increase in heat ;]

the lamp states that the maximum amount of wattage is 60. So any less than that we be OK

It just won't burn as brightly as a 60 watt.
