Both the dog and cat have them, more on the dog. They have been on Frontline Plus for over 4 months it seems to be working OK on the cat, I give them both flea baths once or twice a week, I have sprayed a couple of times now.... please tell me something that works really well or a good spray for the house?
I feel SO bad for them:(

LYME or lime can't spell for the yard. After you have treated your yard with flea and tick killer. sprinkle lime in the yard. fleas ticks even snakes don't like lyme. get this at a home and garden center or a feed store
Lavender oil for there beds. just sprinkle a drop and it will keep it out of their beds.
I use frontline or advantage they work about the same for me. it kills the fleas when they bite the dog
FLEA COLLAR VACUMN CLEANER. if you have a cannister vaccumn cleaner put the flea collar in the cannister when you vaccumn them up in the cannister it will kill the fleas instead of them finding a way out. I do not put flea collars on my pets though

I am suprised that the frontline doesn't work better...the other product that is great is Revolution - but you would have to get it from a veterinarian and ask them how soon you can apply it (because you have been applying Frontline).
Definately don't bathe them right after putting either product on. I would also vacuum your carpet well - often - the flea life cycle involves your carpet...if you live in the Southern part of the country - I have heard it can be really hard to get rid of them.
I also wouldn't let your cat indoor/outdoor - if you do. They will only keep getting reinfected.

A flea only stays on an animal long enough to feed, then it jumps off. So to tell you the truth, it's going to be a little expensive. An adult female flea is able to lay over 250,000 eggs in a 30 day period. That is only 1 adult female. So it's safe to assume that you've got them in your house, either from the animals coming inside, or you walking outside and them getting on your clothes and shoes. So, you've got them inside, on your animals, and outside too. So all these will need to be treated. It's been so long since I've worked at a vet office, don't know what to recommend for the cat, but for the dog, and the dog only, I'd recommend a flea dip. Paramite is made by a company called Vet Kem, and you can dip your dog every week with this. It has a good residual effect, where any flea biting them outside will also die. Now you'll also need to treat the house, so a good fogger, one in each room would do good. As far as the outside, you'll need to by a good kennel insecticide......hook it up to a hose attachment sprayer, and spray your yard and all trees, and brick from 3 feet on down. All that should really help you out. Best of luck to you.........

Do NOT give flea baths that often..it can be dangerous to your pets and also very drying to their skin. Fleas will continue to get on your pets if you don't also treat the enviornment. Bombs don't work since they simply go in the air and not down where the fleas actually are. Vacum the house completely every day.Empty the bag each and every time you vacumn into a plastic bag, seal it and throw it into outside trash container. Pay particular attention to under furniture, mattresses, around baseboards. There is a product available from many vets called Knock Out.It is a great spray for your house. Use diatuminous earth around the outside of your house up near the foundation, vacumn your car as well since people can carry fleas back and forth. When dealing with fleas all the pets, the house & the outside all need to be treated.

Your frontline should kill the adults. Also treating your house will help them die faster, because fleas live in the environment and not actually on the pet. Your frontline may not be working up to its full potential because of the flea baths you are giving them. Only a soapless shampoo should be used otherwise it will wash off your frontline. Frontline works by going into the gland on the skin, not in the bloodstream so it is possible to wash it off with harsh soaps like flea shampoo. Also your pet needs to be dry for 24hrs before putting frontline on, and 24 hours after and no bath for 48hrs after. The frontline will end the cycle of the fleas, but it may take some time, up to 3 months without treating your house. Hope this is helpfull. Good Luck. P.S. be sure to deworm your pets for tape worms after getting rid of the fleas as that is how they are transferred.

Flea baths once or twice a week will irritate your animals skin severely!! You need to get some flea powder for the carpet, really really get the carpets, according to my vet fleas spend more time in the carpet than on the animal. Also cut up a flea collar and put it in the vacuum bag, this will gwt any fleas that survived the powder. Wash EVERYTHING that has been anywhere near the animals. Keep up with the fleas meds. and you guys will be fine. Good Luck

Ask your vet about Revolution. This stuff is amazing, because not only does it get rid of fleas and ticks, but mites and many intestinal parasites as well, which, by the way, fleas can carry. I would definately give it a try and keep up the baths as well but not too close to when you apply the preventative because you dont want to reverse any of the effects. I feel your pain...I have to give my three cats lime sulfur baths for ringworm twice a week....not fun.

Maybe they have built up resistance to Frontline. Switching to Advantage might help. Also need to treat the yard and flea bomb the house. May have to do the house a couple of times. Good luck.

Well first you need to get your house and yard sprayed, then give them a bath again. Call 1888 orkinman and fish around for answers. Also call your vet or local pet store. You'll get answers if one doesn't answer call a different one.
Good luck
I had 11 animals and no fleas

I know from experience.. You have to spray the animals.. that is.. give them baths with GOOD... not cheap stuff.. GOOD flea medicine PLUS.. You MUST go to Home Depot/Lowe's and buy a sprayer and buy some insect killer and spray all the areas where the dog frequents and particularly where the dog(s) sleep. All must be sprayed
