Dear tufflady,
Sounds good but it is absolutely contrary to the Bible. NO ONE can be "good enough" to go to heaven! In fact God says, "There is none that doeth godd, no not one." All of our righteousness is as filthy rags! That is why you need a Savior--the Lord Jesus Christ. There is a wonderful booklet entitled, "What Must I Do To Become Saved?" You can look at it on the internet or call Family Radio and they will send you a free copy. The website is: www.familyradio.com. Everything here is free. I hope this will help you.

Sorry, I don't agree with you. If you treat other people the way you wish to be treated, you're probably a good person. We all fail at this sometimes but most people try their best. You are judging and that is not your right. Only God can judge. And His son said I give you a new commandment, love one another as I have loved you. Easy, not vengeful or nasty. If Jesus came back today do you really think that He would look at the over religious zealots and say good job? God is not on everyones mind , some people do not believe but you know what . They'll be fine as long as they "do no harm" What if Jesus came back as Mother Theresa and tried to show us how to live. And we missed it.

I agree with some of what you say, but I certainly do not see the loving God I believe in as a judge.
I also feel that believing is not enough. It is only those who do the will of God that will truly be "saved," for lack of a better word.
There are many Christians who I believe spend too much time saying "John 3:16," or looking for Jesus in the clouds.
I think Jesus would tell us to turn our eyes away from the clouds and toward the orphans, widows, homeless and others in need of God's love.

Heaven is not something easily attained. Jesus' apostles were rewarded with heavenly life, but look what they went through as his followers. They were thrown in prison, beaten, and persecuted constantly thoughout their ministry. They remained faithful until death. The Bible says that "faith without works is dead." So a person must be more than just good to be rewarded life in heaven. There are many people who may be lead a good and respectable life, but they do not believe in God. So not all good people go to heaven.

being a good person won't take u to heaven. there are a lot of good people that are atheists, scientologists and etc. but most of those good people would end up in hell, because they have been preached about God, but turned away from him, Jesus is the only way to get to God, God is the judge. (but for those who have never heard of Jesus at all in their lives will be judged by their actions, at least that's what i believe)

I can agree with you when you say that most people say that they are a good person!...in fact, I've rarely ever heard a person say that their not a good person!........To answer your question: NO!. the Bible teaches : " For By Grace Are Ye Saved Through Faith, And That Not Of Yourselves, It Is The Gift Of GOD, Not Of Works, Lest Any Man Should Boast"! (Eph. 2:8, 9)......Also check out (Matt. 7: 21, 22).....This will give you a good insight of what GOD Requires from us, if you are a believer!.....GOD BLESS!...

a million - even as Alma the more youthful died the folk responded that he ought to were "buried with the help of the hand of the Lord like Moses". elsewhere we hit upon suggestions about it - in actuality as a head of a dispensation he ought to were translated, all heads of dispensations were. 2 - They actually known to Joseph Smith and others to fix priesthood keys with the help of the particular laying on of palms. 3 - not making use of "assumption" is cultural, once you're saying that word the Virgin Mary is composed of ideas and accordingly ought to reason confusion. we genuinely have numerous words to ward off confusion, and they artwork. for instance, we communicate of the Godhead and continually have, maximum different religions believe that yet nevertheless call it the regularly happening time period "trinity", yet what does trinity advise? over 80% of people outline the interest "trinity" to advise what we call "the Godhead". Transfiguration is a temporary substitute in someone permitting them to see some thing mortal eyes ought to not witness without the substitute, yet then they go back. Translation is an enduring substitute in them (everlasting with the help of mortal words, yet not eternal, that's not a resurrection in the different case those previous Christ ought to not have gained it).

Being good is good but it will not earn you a place in heaven. Jesus is the only way to heaven. If we all allowed being good was good enough and we could make it to heaven, then we would allowed all along we didnt need Jesus. Then all that Jesus did would have been for nothing. I am glad that Jesus paved the way for all of us who will only believe, and trust in Him as Lord and Saviour.
