I've been using 5 lbs. weights but they just seem to "bulk" me up. I want to really define my upper arms. How do I do that? Should I using 3 lbs. weights instead? I'm 28, 5'4", 115 lbs.

I workout 5 times a week - I walk the treadmill, do aerobic tapes, do a small amount of yoga occasionally. I eat pretty healthy too.

Higher repetitions will create more definition, low reps (10 or less) create bulk. IMO, 5lb weight should be fine. Just try to go for like, 50 reps or something. Really get a burn going. Good luck.

If you are trying to 'tone' your arms, find a weight you can lift about 15 times, with the last 2 or 3 being very difficult. Depending on your level of fitness, that may be 3 lb. weights, may be a heavier weight. No offense, but if you are only lifting light weights, and not watching your diet, or doing any fat-burning cardio, your arms will still have fat over the muscle. Have you gained fat in your arms?
If you are genetically pre-disposed to 'big' arms do something like yoga or pilates, where your bodyweight is usually the only resistance involved.q

The definition of definition is the loss of subcutaneous fat and/or water.
Try doing cardio work, like jogging, fast walking, jumping rope etc, these exercises will help you lose fat and water all over your body, so that you can see the muscles underneath.
But don't give the weight training, the muscle you build will burn up some body fat too. (work your whole body with weights)
Good luck
