This isn't one of those questions that is going to change the world, but I just had to share because it would be funny if it wasn't SO, so sad.....
I just got off the phone with my local Mazzios calling to get a pizza delivered. I ordered a large thin crust cheese (complicated, I know) which I had to repeat THREE times (not kidding), then the guy on the phone says...."Uhhhh, I guess when we get there it'll be there."
So - what would your response be at this point (after you quit laughing)?

Well, I hate to say, but I would probably ask the guy's name, and then ask for a manager.
I just can't stand poor service, or better put, poor attitude about service.
A waitress or waiter obviously can't help it if the kitchen's backed up, but what ever happened to a FRIENDLY person who deals with the public? You know, if he had said something like, "I'm sorry I had a hard time understanding what you wanted, and our kitchen is a little backed up right now, would it be a problem if it takes (fill in the blank with appropriate time) 45 minutes?", then I wouldn't think it was poor service. It's the attitude that matters.

Honestly I would have asked, "Do you have a rough idea what time it might *possibly* be here? I have two hungry kids waiting for their dinner. If it's going to be a while, I'd like to cancel the order and just order from somewhere else." I guess this is how people are different...I wouldn't have laughed at all. I probably would have been p!ssed. Ignorant people REALLY irritate me.

I would call back and tell them you changed your mind and cancel the order. Seems to me that they don't care. If you do get the pizza, then don't complain until way later, because people working there could do something to your pizza.
It shows they aren't professional if they don't give you a time. Sounds the person wants to go home.

i would tell him to put his manager on the phone explaining how rude his employee was with me on the phone....... I'm sure he would apologize. Offer the pizza for half off or even for free.
But i would not except that i would tell him no i want to pay for my pizza because it is not your fault. That you would just wanted to let him know what an *** he was....
The manager will be very grateful that he is not cutting a food loss from you and let his employee know about his ***!
