Don't worry about her. After all, it's probably going to be you that is more upset about it. She will have fun! Tell her that there are other kids to play with and a lot of fun activities. She might be upset the first day, but she'll get used to it and like it. Just try not to worry so much, if you worry she'll worry.

I know what it's like being a child that had to make the switch from an amazing loving mom being with me all the time to having to go to school. I must say.. i still remember some of the times my mom had to let go. For example the first time i went to sleep over day camp. I was so excited and mom was so freaked out.
I truly feel that you have made a great choice to enter your child in school. but, if you are frightened and nervous about the whole transition your child will sense your emotion and may not transition as well as some of the other children. So, i would say..
get together with some other mothers that day. C'mon it's so much better then sitting at home panicing. Soon enough your little girl will be running up to you in the school yard and won't be able to stop talking about the excitement she had on her first day of school and you'll be refreshed and relaxed after a great day of relaxing chit chat!....As for you child being shy.. this could be a great chance for her to build relationships with others. When you get a class of all kinds of children together she is bound to make a couple friends!!..:)

i know first hand the anxiety of the first day of kindergarten, and the best thing i can tell you is get excited about, set up a calender and do something special to prepare her everyday, i got my boys the Ms.Bindergarten's Kindergarten book series they are really cute stories, and we talked about every aspect we could think of about that day. i bought a picture frame that said first day of school and of course we shopped for a new outfit. take the day off if you can and with my youngest me and some of the other moms went to lunch and did some shopping. some make light of it but i felt as if i was turning my babies loose into the world and that's hard and it was so special with each one. before you know it will be time to pick her up. good luck

Take her to the school and walk around the facility with her. This way she is acclimated to it before the first day.
Explain to her all of the exciting things that she is going to learn and about the new friends that she is going to make.
KEEP EVERYTHING IN THE POSITIVE AND DON'T LET HER PICK UP ON THE FACT THAT YOU NERVOUS for her.
