Around 8 minutes...or less. Once the water is boiling! I like a bit of crunch left, so 5 should do it.

Boiling Corn

Ya know.. it's all in the size of the kernels. Large meaty kernels require longer than the small tender ones. Fresh off the stalk corn now mind you. Get enough water in your pot boiling FIRST then drop your corn in carefully and bring back to a boil THEN count down from say..... 6 minutes for the small kernels to 8 or a LITTLE more for the large kernels. Oh don't forget that after you have it on the second boil to reduce heat to simmer and COVER it. You could also just shut the heat off. Make sure you have a pan large enough so that the ears roll freely in the water for the best bath they've ever had next to the one you are going to give with the butter!

BOILING corn for 10 or more minutes makes MUSH.

I see others posting about NOT boiling. Very valid suggestion as I've tried it grilled too and it's yummy! All depends on how much time you want to spend and how you want it to taste.

5 minutes of actual boiling time. Next time leave the husks on and soak the corn in water for 15 minutes. Through the corn on the grill and cook 10-15 minutes. (the husk will be black at this point, that's OK) Let them rest 5 minutes before peeling. Cooking them this way allows the corn to steam in the husk, locking in its natural flavor.

Depends on what you mean by fully cooked. I prefer mine roasted, but when boiling I only cook it for about 5 minutes, then eat it. I think the flavor is better on the raw side.

Until you can prick it with a fork and it's soft. Usually about 15 minutes. To make it extra sweet I add about 1/4 cup of sugar to the boiling water.

Corn on the cob does not have to be cooked, only warmed if you desire it that way. Clean and wash it good then put it in a pot of hot water and let it sit until warmed. Boiling corn only makes the corn tougher to chew.

I agree ,bring to boiling, put enough ears in to move freely, but I say put lid on, reduce heat enough to keep boiling. My mama always boiled for 20 min then out they came. No more, no less.

cook at hard boil for about 5 min. then let simmer 4 about 15 min. dont forget 2 add some salt and sugar to your water injoy russ

15 min. with the top on but it also depends on how you like it. It will taste better if you put it in the oven though because boiling it will extract most of its flavors and it will taste watery. So 25-30 min. in the oven.
