Yes but like the previous poster I agree we have been in World War 3 for some time and the truth is many are just not aware of it yet. The Mideast and our dependency on foreigh oil has been a powder keep waiting to blow, In my personal opinion World War 3 began when the Mullahs overtook Iran back in the late 1970s. Yes we have been in this war since the 1970s but we did not realize it til now.
The war on terror World War 3 is not going to be a typical war. It is going to be a completely different war than any other the world has faced. The reason is the War is going to be fought on many new battlefields including the internet and the ecomonic battlefeild.
To those who do not realize all the countries that are already involved in this battle let me lay it out for you this way.
Russia has been at war with chechen rebels for now 5 years. Iran has been supporting attacks for many years now.
In fact, at one time in this war we were supporting Iraq as an ally in this war when they were fighting Iran in the Iran/Iraq war. The only reason that was happening is Saddam was the less of the two evils. I personally think in that cause we could not let Iran sphere of influence grow so we had to support Iraq. How at the same time Iraq proved that they had the same type of plans for mideast oil domination when they invaded Kuwait. Hence the Battle of Iraq version 1.
Also their were battles like the bombing in the 1980s of the marine Baracks and the bombing of the towers in the early 1990s. You can also add the the fact that the humanity mission to Somilia is also a front because it was that present Al_queda leader Osama Bin Laden saw that America will run in the face of murderous acts to American soldiers plus now the warlords of Somilia who were in power during the Somilia the first time are now overthrown and Al_queda and Islamic Fundamentalists have taken over.
That is not even talking aout North Korea and Venezula are also involved in this war. To me there is no doubt we have been in this war for years and the oppositing side has been fighting against us for years but we have been too fat dumb and happy to realize what is going on.
Take for example the roits in France this year. Yeah those roits in France were all because of Islam fundamentalists who have been entering there country and slowly growing. Add to that the attacks in Spain before there election and the Attacks on 7-7 in Britian. People we are at war and it is WWIII it is time to wake up and realize it.

WWIII didn't start today with the attacks on Lebanon, nor did it start on 9/11. It is in progress, though. It began with a whimper, not a bang, and is a direct result of U.S. foreign and domestic policy choices since the end of the Cold War.
We have known about an impending worldwide energy crisis for about 30 years and have accomplished little to lessen our dependence on foreign oil or to lessen our unsustainable consumption of it. Now, as we reach the inevitable peak in worldwide oil production, it is becoming clearer to the average American that our "way of life" and the relative peace that we have had for decades has required an imperialist foreign policy to control worldwide energy resources and to knock out any possible resistance to greedy U.S. policies.
The average person may know this on some level, but many people still have the mindset predicted in the 1976 film "Three Days of the Condor." At the end of that motion picture, Robert Redford questions how the American public would respond to the energy shortages of the future and a theoretical pre-emptive invasion of the Middle East. The conclusion reached is that most people wouldn't be asking questions and wouldn't want to hear answers - as long as they were fed and their lifestyles didn't have to change too much.
Sooner or later, maintaining our lifestyle and the morality of our motives will no longer be the main issues, as forced sacrifice will be the new game. An authoritarian government, a police state on the streets, rolling blackouts across the country, widespread rioting in dangerous cities, and a media controlled entirely by the government - this is what we might expect in the relatively short term (10-20 years).
Should we be scared? Yes and no. The problems are real, and fear for our way of life and loved ones is an appropriate and natural response. However, fear is also the tool that those in power use to control the masses. Without our fear, they would have no power over us. We should strive to understand our predicament, rather than to fear it. We must be prepared to accept change and sacrifice when it comes to our energy usage. At the same time, we must remain vigilant when we are asked to change and sacrifice civil liberties and freedoms along the way.
The first step towards the truth and answers is to question everything - from what you read day to day in the mainstream newspapers to the official "histories" of current events such as 9/11. Research as much as you can, while you still can - the Internet and freedom of the press are going to be two unexpected casualties in this resource war that will not end in our lifetimes.

sure. the issue is with theory. Westerners are deeply authoritarian. even as the IDF bombed Quana in 19996 and slaughtered 2 hundred human beings in chilly blood, human beings had no reaction in any respect. yet even as a guy killed 7 yeshiva scholars is were given banner headlines. Westerners do no longer evaluate sate terrorism to be terrorism; mass homicide is fantastic no matter if it truly is done by technique of a authorities utilising bombers. it truly is only terrorism no matter if it truly is a resistance flow - an NGO. As you be conscious from those type of crypto-fascist replies, maximum individuals haven't any problem with the undeniable reality that the izzies have attacked 5 countries,Lebanon extremely relentlessly and are at the moment cooking up a warfare with Iran. it truly is state terrorism. And the jews are the worst a minimum of contained in the Mideast.

No. There are no major alliances versus other major alliances. Look at Germany, Japan, and Italy, versus the rest of the world. What do we have here? A war in Iraq, Iran getting on everybody's nerves, N Korea threatening everybody, but none of them are teaming up. Everybody is terrified to start a world war, for the risk of nuclear warfare. N Korea is testing their long-range ballistic missiles, Iran is going through enrichment, the biggest step to develop weapon-grade nuclear capabilities, and all the major powers in the world already have nuclear warfare capabillities. The last thing anybody wants is to destroy EVERYBODY.

I do not think so...to be labeled as a World War, a group of few countries should be fighting another group of countries...like a football match if player = country.

Here, its only the USA and allies fighting some local group of terrorists...hence this is not a World War but WW III isn't far away the way things are shaping up.

We entered World War III 10 or 15 years ago. Just as the other World Wars, it has been building up. The question is whether or not this World War will go nuclear or not.

No it's not a world war. You'll know it if it happens. But with the way wars are waged now don't expect the countries to declare "This is World War III".

As for America falling into foreign hands rest assured that we would bomb the planet into obliteration before we would surrender. Comforting thought isn't it.

In my opinion, it's a war, but not a world war, where the majority of the countries of the world take one side or the other and there's a big fight until one side surrenders or is defeated. I think we have the makings for a world war, that's for sure. Pray for an end to terrorism and war. Amen.

Hah, this is nothing compared to the other World Wars.

The war in the Middle East is more like Gulf War 2.
