spacers! I clearly remember them being MUCH more painful!!

My daughter just got her braces and the spacers didn't bother her at all, but the braces were a bit touchy for a few days. I think it depends on how close you teeth are and how far apart you need to move them

Tylenol and Motrin - it'll get ya through the rough few days!

Personally, I think having spacers is worse. At least braces show you are trying to correct your teeth.

Spacers, uhhhhhhh I hated those. But they only hurt for a while, whereas braces, that are stuck on your teeth rip off your enamel when taken off and leave permanent stains. So maybe braces are worse in the long run.

spacers. they don't really doa whole lot. braces do more work and hurt as bad.

The worst thing is the palate-widening contraption that gets cemented to your back teeth and hangs between your tongue and the roof of your mouth.
