It all depends some hot dogs have 8 and some have 10, but if you get the ones with 10 in them then you need to get the family pack of hot dog buns.

It's a conspiracy to make you buy more buns or more hot dogs. In order to come out even you need to buy 4 packs of hot dogs and 5 packages of buns. Or you could just get jumbo hot dogs with only 8 in the package.

They still do that? All the stores in my area have both hot dogs and buns that are 8 to a pack.

I think it's a way to get you to buy more pkgs. of buns or hot dogs - some buns come 12 in a pack! I'm sure they must get together on this.

To make you buy more. Since you have 2 hot dogs left you are stuck buying more buns. Then you have 6 buns left so you have to buy more hot dogs etc.

Because 2 out of 10 people are on a low carb diet and won't eat the bun.

Thats a good question!!!

I think its because buns are fairly cheep and they want you to spend the extra $1.50 for another pack of buns...

no idea what they expect you to do with the leftover buns though...

The bun manufacturer can't count!

The kids will usually take 2 cut up without buns.

Oh yeah, plus, meat comes first. So if pigs came in 5s, blankets would come in 4s, if pigs came in 20s, blankets would come in 16s. It's all rational.
