Have you had a complete blood count done? This might be a physical problem such as anemia.
Have you tried to sit quietly and do some breathing? If you can focus on your breathing, you can break the compulsitivity of the human mind, hence giving it a rest.
If you are like me and walk around all day saying,"I'm so tired", then stop it because it only makes you more tired.
Set your self up with the goal to get familiar with your body from the molecular level up. See what your body is telling you.

You need to give us more details. Like your age, how long ago did this start...etc. List any other symptoms that are bothering you, whether you think they are related or not.
Did you go to a doctor?
( I bet its related to a physical condition, and its not psychological at all ).
Have you looked into Candida Albicans? It causes varied symptoms, including fatigue, both physical and mental. You might also want to research this on the internet to find out more about it ( the symptoms and the treatment ). I think unrefreshed sleep is also a symptom. I have read that most patients with Candida Albicans are misdiagnosed and most doctors cannot even diagnose Candida Albicans. Some of them are even sent to the psychiatrist. The treatment is to go on a Candida Diet. The diet includes avoiding all forms of sugar, (and so fruits also need to be avoided because they contain fructose ), all sources of yeast ( bread, etc..), and eat diary in moderation. Also, try to introduce friendly bacteria by eating yogurt. You might want to consider it.
Do you have any food intolerances? Maybe wheat( gluten intolerance)? If you do, maybe they might also be a reason.

Well, if you find yourself not being able to sleep and being refresh I would say take a closer look at what your thinking at night. This is something you need to settle, your mind is not at refresh while your sleeping because these things are what are holding you back. I found that I could remember where things are while I sleep. I'll ask myself to remember and surely I do. Proving that the mind always at work even when your asleep. So, hope this help, take everyday 1 tablespoon of honey put it in tea, on a bagel or just put it on anything you wish, but take it. Drink a lot of water flush your body out of all the toxin in your body. No soda or coffee for the first week. Than one or two cups a day than only water. Its important to drink water it helps clean you out, ice tea is great, drink a lot of it and here is where you could add honey. Also stop using table salt is not good get sea salt this has mineral that you need that table salt doesn't.

I have a similiar thing and it is related to stress and how your mind gets "cluttered" when you are sleeping. I deal with it by exercising for an hour a day and meditating. I really suggest breaking through it with some physical activity even though you don't feel like you have the energy for it. Try walking on grass barefooted. It'll help ground you.

I wonder if you have been checked for chronic fatigue syndrome or possibly sleep apnea (by a sleep clinic). Both of those can leave you feeling like you haven't slept. What about your work situation or home life? Are they mentally draining? If your doctor has been prescribing anti-depressants, s/he must be considering depression or anxiety. Another possibility is allergies to foods or environmental conditions. Good luck, this must be very frustrating.

Sometimes it takes awhile for meds to get into your system and you will feel tired from alot of them. When I lived in Calif I got down like that . The Psychiatrist I was seeing at the time put me on Triaval. It is kinda the opposite of Elival. It takes about 2 weeks before you feel any results. It is a mood elvator. Ask your Doctor about it.. Good Luck and God Bless. You can always ask God for help and believe he will help you surprising results. Works better than meds.....

learn to enjoy stress
A man goes to a shop, picks up a beautiful cup and says "my god this cup is so beautiful" and suddenly the cup starts talking to the man. The cup starts saying "O man, I am beautiful right now, but what was the state of my being before the pot-maker made me a beautiful pot?
Before I was sheer mud and the pot-maker pulled me out of the mud from the mother earth and I felt why that pot-maker is so cruel, he has separated me from mother earth. I felt a tremendous pain. And the pot-maker said, "Just wait." Then he put me and churned me, when I was churned I felt so giddy, so painful, so stressful, I asked the pot-maker "Why are you so cruel?" the pot-maker said, "Just wait." Then he put me into a oven and heated me up, I felt completely burnt. There was tremendous pain and I asked the pot-maker "Why are you so cruel?" and the pot-maker said, "Just wait."
Then he poured hot paint on me and I felt the fume and the pain, I again asked the pot-maker "Why are you so cruel?" and the pot-maker said, "Just wait." Then again he put me into an oven and heated it to make me more strong, I felt life is so painful hence pleaded the pot-maker and the pot-maker said, "Just wait." And after that the pot-maker took me to the mirror and said, "Now look at yourself". And surprisingly I found myself so beautiful.
When god gives us lot of trouble, it appears god is very cruel but we need patience and we have to wait. When bad things happen to good people, they become better and not bitter.
So all difficulties are part of a cosmic design to make us really beautiful. We need patience, we need understanding, we need the commitment to go through in a very calm and wise way. So all difficulties are not to tumble us but to humble us.
With this understanding, let us not be against difficulty. Understand difficulty is a part of a purifying process. A purifying process at present which we cannot understand and hence we need faith and we need trust.
Let us understand how to handle stress with this background. You can be affected by stress from two angles. There is an internal stress and there is an external stress. Nobody can avoid stress; one has to only manage stress. Managing stress can be internal and also external.
The internal stress is; your thoughts can create stress, your values can create stress, and your beliefs can create stress, meaning thereby your stress is coming from your mind more from the outer world. Many people suffer not from heart attack - they suffer from thought-attack.
For example, when somebody says you are an idiot, we get so hurt, we get so victimised. My boss has called me an idiot and I am feeling tremendous pain. Now where does this stress come from? If my boss has called me an idiot, I have to ask myself "am I an idiot"?
If I am an idiot nothing to be upset about; and if I am not an idiot, then also nothing to be upset about! It is the perception of the boss. But why do we suffer from that stress? I suffer not because my boss has called me an idiot but because of the thought-attack.
I may say the boss has called me an idiot; therefore I am suffering? It is true that the words are unpleasant. But what hurts is the interpretation of the unpleasant word. The thought in me interprets. That is pain and therefore it becomes pain. Much of our stress is our mind interpreting it as pain. So we suffer from thought-attack more than heart attack.

it may be that something in your environment is causing you to have stress induced tiredness and this can cause depression that meds will not help, toxins in the air such as mold can cause this, and things in your diet you may be allergic to can cause toxins to build up in your system in turn causing sleeplessness and tiredness induced stress!
