Do you have to have insurance to test drive a car?

I live in California just as an FYI incase the rules change from state to state.

No, the car lots have them covered till they give you the care custody and control of the vehicle. (After the Sell)

NO! but you do need insurance if you are going to finance a car.

I don't think so, car lots have insurance on all their cars already.
