We lead every thought captive by renewing our minds to the truth of God's wrod and letting that be what guides our thoughts. Instead of thinking evel, replace the evil with what God's word says. Instead of reacting, learn to act with the love of god. Instead of lust and desire, learn to appreciate and be content.
Etc. etc.
God's word forms the foundation for right thinking. Also the truths regarding what Christ did and what we can be because of what Christ did can set us free and keep us there.

Temptations come as a thought first. Then we act on that thought. We are supposed to hold it captive so we wont act out on the temptation. The spititual battle starts in our mind.

Every time that you find yourself thinking something that you know goes against God's will for your life, reject that thought in the name of Jesus, amen!
The standard analogy about our thought life goes like this. We can't stop birds from flying over our heads but we don't have to let them land and build a nest in our hair. We can't control every thought that enters our mind but we don't have to dwell on them. Instead we can turn our thoughts to these things.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

he's no longer classless and negative. He, like just about anybody else in the league, celebrates after doing something. They do it to convey interest to themselves. The NFL is a "seem at me" league, they're all interest whores and the extra publicity a participant receives regularly ability extra money for that participant. My widespread is when I guy dances after scoring a TD and his team continues to be down by 3 TDs. If it bothers some human beings, so be it. this is no longer hurting all people notwithstanding the guy doing it, making him seem as if a fool. So I say, enable him and anybody else who needs to rejoice making a play do inspite of they prefer see you later because this is no longer hurting his team (i.e. party penalty) or showing up yet another participant or team. I have a warmth spot in my heart for DeSean because he kept my delusion football *** this weekend. ;-)

You take any thought captive that "exalts itself against the knowledge of God"; that is, we are to bring any rebellious or disobedient thought or attitude that is opposed to the true knowledge of God into obedience to Christ.
First, recognize the negative thought. Second, resist it. Take control of it. Push it out of your mind. Use the word of God.

I find that quoting that verse from II Corinthians 10:5, and also the one from I Corinthians 10:13 helps. It's hard to be impure when quoting Scripture. Especially as they relate to temptation.

When you feed your mind with good things (phil 4:8) then you will be well aware of what is not of God and know that it is evil. Ask God for help to help you. reading the bible, being with godly people, prayer, faith, fasting, worshipping, ministering, etc...all strengthen you to face any problem.

It is very dificult to filter and control our thoughts. It helps though if you do not surround yourself with sinful things or spend too much time many worldly people.
