Trek bikes: OCLV Optimum Compaction Low Void carbon fiber which is denslely compressed layers of multi directional carbon fiber to maximize strenght and weight - Low Void means they eliminate the weak spots in the carbon so that it exceeds certain standards set by Trek Bikes. I also would think other manufactures have some of the same standards with there bikes.

Carbon fiber bikes are bikes made of carbon fiber which is durable enough to ride on yet much lighter than your normal bike made out of alluminum alloys. Great for racing. Sometimes it's even beneficial to replace your fork and seat post on you aluminum bike to reduce turbulance. Carbon fiber absorbs shock better than aluminum too.

The only easily available carbon fiber bike i can think of are the Cannondale Six13 frames.
