How long is this trend going to continue?

Let's take a tour:

200 years ago, we hated Witches.
100 years ago, we hated the Irish.
80 years ago, we hated Jews.
70 years ago, we hated Italians.
60 years ago, we hated Germans.
50 years ago, we hated Communists.
40 years ago, we hated Blacks.
30 years ago, we hated Asians.
20 years ago, we hated Hispanics.
Today, we hate Muslims.

Will this be another ignorant, childish, ten-year trend, or will this lead the paranoid Neo-Conservatives in Washington to Holy War that could've been avoided a decade ago?

In general, Americans will continue to hate Muslims until we find someone else to hate. We must love scapegoats, it should replace the bald eagle as our national mascot.

Ignorant, childish, ten year trend? You don't think that Nazi Germany was worth hating? You don't think that Communism, with its brutal dictatorships, complete with the slaughter of Millions, was worth hatred?

And you compare hating minority groups (which is an overstatement which only applies to a small part of US population, even in that time!) to hating Muslims (which have nasty tendency to blow themselves up in places in order to kill the most innocent civilians as a show of power).

We will hate Muslims until 1) Normal, main stream Muslims start to make a real effort in this country to support the war on terror, which they haven't. and 2) To paraphrase Golda Meir, that fringe Muslim groups love their children more than they hate us.

This is not a trend, actually! Unless there won't be any Crusader-minded people in this world, it'll continue!..

Because, it's not just "today's" hate! Hundreds of years ago, there were Crusades, so I'd call it "waking of old ugly monster"!

They are not a " single entity" but thousands of individuals who are just as victimized as we ( me, a born again christian is) We should not hate anyone based on religious beliefs. I love all Muslims. even the radical ones, they need our prayers and support the ones who aren't radical are victims

Thank you for this remembrance. If I recall, just about every sacred text I've read says something about kindness to one's neighbor. Let's drop the ignorance and evolve, shall we?

I don't know, how long do you want to hate them? I don't hate Muslims so much as Muslim terrorists. And I don't really hate the terrorists, but I don't trust them and they scare the **** out of me and I want to be safe from them.
