Have any car that you are considering purchasing checked out by a qualified mechanic. If it is in good condition, and has been maintained properly, you can get a good car!

when concidering a mustang, you are concidering tha perfect example of an american car. and i don't mean that in a good way. American cars tend to be technologically behind tha rest of tha world, and we pay for it. Tha engine that you will find in a last era mustang is a 4.6 liter all iron V8. tha technology that went into that car is bairly more advanced than tha v-8's being produced in tha 60's. luckily tha engines can be easily replaced, but at quite a decent price. In tha way of standard reliabillity, tha v-6 tend to be a better buy, with less power. tha overall car, they are still american and longevity has never been a priority. but being that you see them everywhere, and they are everywhere, they are rather inexpensive to fix.. I think one problem you might be overlooking, though, is tha matter of Insurance. Mustang's are tha "cool guy" car from back in high school, and in tha eyes of the insurance companies, have a bad history attached to them. Overall, they are a nice car with a great appeal towords them, but you are going to pay for that reputation.

Buying a used mustang is no different than buying anyother used car as long as it was well taken care of. If you really like mustangs and thats what you want, go for it. Some people do not like mustangs, which is why there are other cares for them to choose from. I myself love and own mustangs. Good luck!

Take the prospective purchase to a reputable service person to have the vehicle checked out. While there are no guarantees, the check out could winnow out some awful vehicles.

I agree with the ones that tell you not to buy them. Try going to consumerreports.com to get you the information you need about any car.

Make sure the body is fine. Engines can always be replaced or repaired.
