I am not an Atheist. I am a Gnostic Christian, but when i was pagan i would try not to use GDI. Then I would feel horrible about it. I can not stand the use of God that way. To me it feels like you are telling the Deity what to do and that is horribly presumptuous.

I'm assuming you're Christian ...
After putting a tree up to celebrate Christmas, do you feel awkward afterwards? Does decorating your home with pastel colors, eggs, and bunnies for Easter make you feel awkward? Or how about blowing a candle out on a birthday cake after you've made a wish?
It should. Those are all Pagan practices.

I have never said OMG. I have typed it a few times. No I don't feel awkward afterward. Sometimes, though, I feel like I might need a follow up, so I might add **** you or that was a god damned funny joke. Had enough. loser? Mind your manners, I'll mind mine. stop being a bigot.

Athiest have more right to use those terms than Christians, since for athiests they have no real meaning whereas for Christians such terms are agains the Ten Commandments.
Christians should feel MUCH more awkward after saying them.

Yes, and no. When I say "He was dancing around like a fairy", I don't have to catch myself and think "oops, nearly forgot I don't believe in fairies". When I say, jokingly, "Now behave or Santa won't bring you any presents", I'm not embarassed to be caught out believing in Santa Claus, because it's just a figure of speech, and no more than that. The same goes for "OhMyGod!" or "Jesus H. Christ!" or any other similar turn of phrase. It means nothing.

The same reason you say Thursday.
Thursday is a commonly accepted expression, but is based on a false God, Thor. I don't believe in Thor, and you don't believe in Thor, but we have no qualms using his name all the time.
So I do say OMG or DGI quite often because it is a expression that have a commonly accepted meaning (suprise or anger).
So if you don't want me to say OMG, you shouldn't say "March" or a variety of other words that come from deities you don't believe in.
One thing I do not say is "Bless you", since I don't believe in blessing. I say "Gesundheit!" (to your health)

Not at all. Actually I do believe in a higher power, though my higher power could never get offended over such trivial things!
(or carry out wars in its own name, or tell people they will go to hell if they are not saved)
Why would it feel weird if the word had no meaning?

I use both because they have become part of the language. No, I don't feel awkward afterward.

Yes I use them, no I don't feel awkward afterwards. They're figures of speech, they have nothing to do with someone's beliefs nowadays.
