.... haha ... my aunt always told me the best birth control is ANAL sex ... or no sex at all .. !

But I think she was just teasing .... I've been on the shot before and currently on the pill.

The shot is nice but has a lot more side effects I think like, weight gain - spotting ( lots and lots of bleeding for the first 3 months ) no period at all after awhile, hard to conceive once you're off, my insurance didn't cover the shot ( wasn't medically necessary for me to take it ) so it was expensive like 80 bucks a shot, and a few more.

The pill is nice if you can remember to take it everyday. I've been taking Ortho-Tricycling for the past 2 years and it's been great. My periods only last 3 days, I'm very very regular, no heavy bleeding or cramping, I haven't seen anything really bad with this brand. But you HAVE to take it EVERYDAY and around the same time.

You can always try them all and your body will let you know what one is best for you. What works for me might not work for you.

My personal favorite is the Birth Control Pill ( Trynessa aka Ortho trycyclen)...I have been on it for a long time, taking everyday at the same time and I have not once had a pregnancy scare. I dont care how many people say " I got pregnant on the pill" I dont believe it, if you take it everyday at the same time...your golden. I like it better than condoms or shots...but thats my personal opinion

Condom's and the sponge! I really believe in preventing a possible disease; "no glove, no love" rule goes a long way with me! But if that condom, breaks or pulls off, having vaginal contraceptive sponge in place, is an extra layer of protection against pregnancy and some STD's! Good luck and happy hunting!

i'm a huge fan of NuvaRing. a lot less puzzling to bear in mind than a pill and decrease dose of hormones. in spite of the indisputable fact that, for better lengthy time period birth control, an IUD or a tubal ligation can be a thanks to bypass. Catherine

i hope its ok for a guy to answer this. condoms. they protect against pregancy and diseases. the big thing is STD's. alot of them have no noticeable symptoms and can affect your ability to have kids later on or cause cancer in some cases if left untreated. plust there are so many different kinds that you can try one until you find what feels best to you. plus my girlfriend get really bad craps during her period when she goes off the pill. and sometimes gets sick when she goes back on it again.
