NO NLNONONONONONO NONO PLEEASE u dont understand how annoying that can be- i mean i know saftey and everything- but its just really annoying to leave work, or leave school and go wait for like 2 hours for ur turn and deal with grumy biased driving testers that make up their own rules!!!! I would take a written test tho lol that way there is no prejudice on my results - it doesnt matter whos grumpy or in a bad mood....numbers are numbers....

I think that in the first 10-15 years after receiving a liscense, people would become better drivers with experience. I would think even at the age of 50 some drivers should be required to take a driving test, just because eyesight, hearing, or health problems might be detrimental to their driving ability. After that, I personally believe that every 5 years older drivers should retake the test. I see way too many elderly people behind the wheel that should not be, and I believe this will only be safer for them and other drivers on the road.

depending on the previous year records i can say that it is safest to re take the test if a person has committed too many infractions during that previous year some states are considering this action to be every 5 years regardless of record or age of the person so every time that you have to get a new picture taken to renew the picture you would have to take a road test only if for any reason the person fails then a written and road test will have to be taken by the person so the driver wont be allowed to drive until he or she pass the exams. good idea i hope it is materialize.

I think that every 10 years, people should be made to retake the driving AND written tests to renew their license......after they turn 65, then it should be every time they renew their license(every 4 years here in Ohio).

If you think about it, the last time people do any type of "testing" for their license, they are on average only 16-18 yrs old! Things change so to retest seems to be the safest thing out their for everyone.

Nope, if you passed the exam, it means you will most likely going to get a car and drive quite often. If you practice everyday, or once a week, your driving skill will improve. Retaking the test is a waste of resource and time. Most people will be able to pass it, including your grandmom. You won't get penalized too much for driving slow, as long as you follow all signs.

If you have any moving violations (like a speeding ticket) or an accident, then most states have laws which require a driving test for renewal...

Only those who have amassed enough points to lose the license. They should be tested to get it back. After 65 they could test if the person has one serious, or three minor tickets during the past 12 months. That should cover it without bothering the safe drivers. (Like you and me)
