Drink up my friend. When I went on the low carb diet a year ago I gave up beer and drank rum and diet coke. No carbs. You can get a list of carbs, even liquor, by going to
http://www.atkins.com
Click on 'atkins nutritional approach'
Click on 'carb counter'
Click on 'download pdf'
Breaks food down into their respective categories and tells carbs, fiber, net carbs, etc.
Good luck.
Oh yeah, the nutball that said ignore Atkins because he died. Yeah, he died from falling on a sidewalk in the snow and hitting his head. Sheesh, people, do some research before you speak.

I am on the diet and I drink rum and diet coke every night, and I am losing weight.. I was even drinking on the induction week and I lost weight. I just read this on their official website though lol, and according to it rum is a huge no-no and whiskey and rye the best choice, and we can't have any alcohol before the maintenance stage??? that's not what it says in the book... weird, the diet has been working for me with the rum and coke since day 1 and also will low carb beers such as miller lite (3.2 carbs a bottle) and michelob ultra (less than 3 carbs a bottle).
From the Atkins center, featured on low-carb.com:
28. Can I drink alcohol on the diet?
ANSWER: Alcohol is absolutely forbidden on the induction diet. One should only drink it during the maintenance phase of the diet and then not as the first thing that’s re-introduced after the induction diet. The best alcohol products to have are the hard alcoholic beverages like scotch or rye, followed by vodka etc. Rum, as it is made from sugar cane should always be avoided.

i did the atkins 3 yrs ago and dropped 20 lbs in a few months. and have kept it off since.
i gave up drinking wine and beer during the diet. and stuck to vodka and scotch.
in the end i think the atikins trained me to not over eat. so i havent gained anything back. i drink beer, wine, spirts, etc now. the only thing i really gave up was soda.
so provided you do things in moderation, don't use the atkins as an excuse to comsume 3000 calories a day as long as its carb free, you should be fine.
