Do u put this ~ thing on top of the n????????? ~N u know for a spainsh word please help i have been wondering 4 years!!!!!!!!

the to SYSTEM TOOLS
The to CHARACTER MAP
Chose the letter you want select it and copy paste into your
sentence.

I'm sure there is a shorter way but thats how I do it

The thing that looks like a stretched-out letter S lying on its side? That's called a "tilde". It indicates that the "N" is to be pronounced "nasally" -- almost as if it were "NY".

Unfortunately, if your typewriter or computer doesn't have one -- it's usually on the extreme left-hand side of the number row, if it's there -- you have to put it in by hand.

If you're interested in the hows and whys, originally -- I mean WAY back, in the Middle Ages -- the Spanish wrote this by stacking two Ns on top of each other. Gradually the upper N got "conventionalized" into the little squiggle that is used now, but if you look you can see that it's sort of like an N squashed and stretched out.

try switching your keybord to spanish in the control panel or visiting your computer's character map also in the control panel. You can copy and paste one form there.

The guy below me just put two in your answers. You can copy and paste his.

ñ : hit ~ followed by n
Ñ : hit ~ and keep the shift bar pressed in while you hit the n.
