If you think about it, it makes sense. Canada has all the resources we need. Wood, oil, water, electricity, lumber, natural gas, etc etc. It would be more convienient for us to invade them than the Iranians. Also, the
Iranians would start producing many suicide bombers to lure us away from their country.
Canadians, on the other hand, wouldn't mind being part of the US as they are pretty much like us.
What do you guys think? Is invading Canada worth it?

The world would fight for Canada?
Yeah, just like they're fighting for Iraq and Afghanistan, right?
Idiots.

Quite frankly I don't see why you would want to do either. But to answer your question I think we have too many allies for that to ever happen. What you propose makes no sense. In one paragraph you say that Canada wants to Join the U.S., that you should invade us and that we have all of the natural resources. We do have all of the resources so why would we join the U.S. who depletes the world supply. We have all the resources we need to be totally self suffient so we don't NEED to join the U.S. for any reason. If we ( as you seem to mistakenly think) wanted to join your country you wouldn't be talking about HAVING to invade it. Yes your country would be much better off if you had all of our resources but you never will. For starters ( no offence to the American people) but there are too many countries lining up to attack the United States. Countries that depend on Canada to supply things like wheat, and our resources. We support you, but would we join you? Why would we join a country in your financial and high risk state? Besides, all we would have to do is turn off the taps for the oil and gas supplies to the United States and you wouldn't have enough fuel for your military to make it as far as the border. By the time you made it here by foot I think we'd be prepared for you. Our military has proved it's self in the past and you would know that if you had ever picked up a history book. What a foolish question!!!

You already are at war with us. Ya hate our guts, want to close the border to us and build a fence along the 49th. You want to take all our water and Oil. You don't pay us for the lumber you take. You eat our beef and then complain if you get one cut that is not to your liking. You don't realize that we are your greatest asset and trading partner.

It is somewhat true however that because of our similarities some Candadians wouldn't mind becoming one, however you will NOT find that attitude in the East as they are very very anti American.

We have done nothing to hurt or harm you, infact we helped you in all your wars. The only thing that gets us is that while your Star Spangled Banner was being penned you were lobbying bombs at our country. Dont' you realize that you were fighting the British on our soil and were so proud of that that you had to go and sing about it evertime you have a sports game, raise your flag, or celebrate you independace.

If you declared your independence so boldy, why do you still come to us for some of your resources. This means that you really aren't that independent as you think.

Invade is such a harsh word. It truely is another word for war. If you really want it. We can bring it on. Be careful what you wish for. You would be the ONLY country fighting us as no one else in the world likes you. We would have an alliance bigger than what Bush put togehter for this Iraq conflict.

We let you in and this is the thanks we get...... geeze?????!!!!!!

um, no... you stated exactly what is wrong with the US ...

Canada has all the resources we need. Wood, oil, water, electricity, lumber, natural gas, etc etc...

Well... let's see here.. we are responsible for using up all this energy.. and once it's gone, IT'S GONE. We used up more energy than anyone else... and now we WANT more. This is just disgusting... since we depleted our own resources, we should be responsible for creating more environmentally-friendly sources of energy.

Also ...

Canadians, on the other hand, wouldn't mind being part of the US as they are pretty much like us.

And you know this how?? I really don't think Canada even likes America... c'mon now.. look at us. All about ourselves and say **** the rest of the world. And if you ask me... Canada would kick our asses in a war.

I think you should go for it.

Not only would Canadians fight you tooth and nail, but you would find the rest of the world powers rallying behind us. Commonwealth, France, Scandanavia, Japan, Russia, China.. do you honestly think ANY of those nations would side with the you invasion of a sovereign, peaceful member of the G8? You're right we have bountiful resources - you think the rest of the world will sit by and let you steal it? What are you going to "nuke" your fresh water supply? Your troops have a hard enough time with insurgants that are identifiably ethnic and wear turbans.. how are you going to deal with ones that more or less look like you and have already THOUROUGHLY infiltrated your own country. (you might think of Pam Anderson and Mike Myers and Bill Shatner and Alex Trebec and Steve Nash and all those NHL Hockey players as famous expats - however, we know them to be well trained sleeper agent for the Canadians military)

The biggest irony in your proposal is the very real probablity that your own "red states" would probably take the opportunity to cede from the Blues and let you go it alone. The entire west coast and New England / Eastern Seaboard would end up being Canadian - and the USA would be reduced to the midwestern dustbowl, Texas and the South...

It wouldn't be easy.
You can actually look up this little known fact
No Canadian Regiment has EVER retreated on the battlefield.. It's true. Not once. We've been surrounded in Hong Kong and the wounded fought in the hospitals. We've charged up ridges in France that no other allied force could take.
In the Medak pocket, former Yugoslavia. A small company of our regulars held off both sides in the conflict and actually had them surrender. They were outnumbered 50 to 1. They took no casualties but inflicted over 60 dead. That battle is now taught at West Point.
Besides, why would ya want to do that? The Poutine shops would close, the pigs would stop makin' bacon and we'd hide the stanley cup.

Because we don't invade a country for resources, we do so for defense. Iran, with it's undisputed quest for nuclear weapons (why would they want nuclear power when they have oil so cheap?) and it's refusal to comply with agreements they made with the UN are a threat to the world, not merely the US.

Iran also funds and trains organizations who target civilians, using them to attack enemies in violation of the Geneva Convention (e.g. Hezbollah/Hamas vs. Israel).

Iraq was offender #1 on this list before the removal of Saddam Hussein.

Canada, on the other hand, has no such type of violations. To settle disputes, they negotiate, then follow their agreements, allowing verification if they agreed to it.

What gives you the idea that we get resources from war? Sure isn't Iraq...

Excuse me? First of all millions of people in Canada AND the US would be 100% against the US invading Canada. How would you like it if your homeland got invaded? You would be pissed! It's arrogant and stupid. Canadians wouldn't sit down and take it, we'd fight. There would be WAR, ok? And which country wouldn't jump at the chance to join Canada to go to war against the US? Think about it, no one likes you. In fact, Canada is your closest ally.
Second of all, it's more profitable for the US to be trading partners with Canada. The US isn't doing too badly in this department (i.e. softwood lumber? You heavily taxed Canadian lumber entering your country and still wouldn't pay us back despite a number of rulings ordering you to do so).

So, surfer dude, quit while you're ahead and stick to the waters :)

Hey hey hey now. I don't want to be part of the USA. But I was wondering when donkey head Bush would realize we have oil etc and say we are at war. He may be starting up already with the identity card to pass the border and all the worry about Canada "harbouring" terrorists.
I think other Countries (like England) would defend us.

As a Canadian who has visited the U.S. many times for the most part they treat us well. Our resources are there because we manage to find ways to renew most of them. As far as a war goes our friends also include NATO, Russia,India, Japan,Most Europian nations and I'll bet that half Americans would support Canada on moral issues. Yes we are simular, but we still like our differances, and we still like our brothers next door .

Iran has oil....more than many countries in the world. Canada doesn't. Canada is a more developed contry, and it will be harder to defeat it. Plus the profits are not so great as in Iran. But I have another question: why should we invade any contry?
