She told me she liked him far after I had already let myself flirt and now Im pretty sure he likes me and I am starting to realize that im attracted to him and I dont want to hurt her. He barely even knows who she is. He is leaving for Iraq soon and before she told me she liked him she told me she would never date anyone in the military... how was i supposed to know she had made an exception??? HELP!!!

it sounds like this guy has a lot going on right now, especially leaving for Iraq and all, but no offense, I don't really think he's looking for a relationship right now. you should be in the clear. be friends with the guy, write him, email, whatever. her feelings for him will fade when he leaves and you can always tell her that you became close with him while he was away.

Well don't get caught up in a mess. Do not let some guy rip up a relationship of friends. Iraq is far away let him go and don't put your life on hold, thee is no promise he make it out of Iraq. You always keep faith he'll come back to you, but has he expressed any serious proposals like a ring?

Keep your good friend and stay in touch with your 'someone'. He will love your letters while he is overseas and you will still have a good friend to hang with.
