I am thinking about a career in the Air Force but I don't think 6 weeks is enough time to become a good troop.

No that is basic training to get you familiar with rules and recognition of ranks and procedures. You still get training on your job you chose

AF bootcamp is soon to be 8 weeks long followed by the school for your specialty. This school can last months. They will give you enough training to perform your job. By "fight" what did you have in mind? No, they are not going to train you to be infantry. You will be surprised at what they accomplish in 6 weeks. You want more training for combat...join the Marine Corps.

That's 6 weeks of basic training. They have more training at their MOS school. Most of basic training spent waiting around to do something, anyway.

Basic gets you in shape and school teaches you your job. You will be well trained when you leave.

I am not really sure about the training for the air force.
How long does it take you to fight?

God, your dense....
The answer is NO, of course. Basic is just that, basic. It gets you from being a civillan to a Airman. Then you have to go to school to learn your speciality. That may take months. Then they send you where needed. Thats how its works. It 6 weeks all you will learn is how to do push ups and salute well.

In some parts of the world, I doubt they even get that. My feeling is that it is not 'training for war' so much as to teach you not to run away right away or to kill yourself with your own equipment.
