Do I have a civil right to walk down the street without fear of being robbed?
Do I have a civil right to be secure in my home without having to have bars, locks and a security system?
Does my wife have the civil right to not worry about being raped?
Do my children have the civil right to not be molested?
I think that I, my wife and my children have thiose rights.
When I called the local chapter of the A.C.L.U. I was told that if I had a problem to call the police. I told them that I did have problem. My rights are being violated every day and that I thought it would be a good idea to assign a lawyer to help me enforce my legal rights. The woman I talked to (Latasha) laughed and hung up.
So I quess "civil rights" are for other people. Not me or my family.

A) There is no such thing as the right to not have to worry.
B) What in the Constitution makes you think be free of fear is a right?

The things you described are not committed by the government, therefore your Constitutional rights have not been violated. This is why the ACLU lady laughed and hung up. I suggest you read the Constitution before calling a lawyer.

The lawyer at the ACLU was right in referring you to the local police. You are talking about criminal matters, not civil matters.

Cry me a river. The ACLU is not responsible for stopping crime. That is the job of your local police department. give them a call and complain.Tell them they're not doing their jobs.

The ACLU is only for criminals and minorities. Don't be fooled, they are not fighting for your civil liberties, just criminals and minorities. I have never seen a single instance to contradict this.
