Can I speak? Yes, I can. I speak English, Spanish and French. Which language should I use with you? You've already made up your mind but I'll speak to you anyway.
I have been here since I was ten years old. I am now a naturalized citizen. I've achieved more as an illegal than many US citizens whom I've known. I've been able to take advantage of any opportunity that comes my way.
I've been working alongside my family since I was ten (no complaints). We paid taxes, worked since three in the morning throwing newspapers then I attended school. I graduated from a parochial school with honors and a scholarship to attend the local university. There, many citizens, dropped out, became drug users, lost scholarships, became pregnant. While I, an illegal, worked my butt off to graduate.
I graduated magna cume laude from the university, with honors, and I became a teacher. I now teach children, of all cultures and races. I see many citizens of this great nation, mistreat their children, sit them in front of the TV, neglect their children, and I am forced to call child protective services on many citizens of this country.
I've never supported any "disrespectful" groups. In fact, I'm a member of many Honor Societies, and member of our local state board of education. I am also a member of the Hispano Chamber of Commerce because I also own a small business. I'm married to a US Army Captain, who served in the first Gulf War. He's now retired and works at a local hospital as a Respiratory Therapist. We are active with the VFW too. I volunteer, I work overtime and I'm a member of the school's instructional council.
I care about this country, I am now a citizen of this country. I care about the citizens of this country. I prove that on a daily basis! My work directly affects your children. I help educate parents, students and teachers.
If others, citizens in particular, have not taken advantage of the great opportunity that it is to be born in this country it is not my fault. Being born in this country IS an opportunity in and of itself. I see many young people throwing that opportunity away by becoming drug addicts, gang members, drop outs, etc. I try to guide them along and counsel them as much as I can.
I've demonstrated to this country that I do care, that I appreciate what this GREAT country has given me. That I, an illegal immigrant, like many others, can be one of the BEST citizens of this country. I don't need to "blend in". I can stand out, as an immigrant, as a naturalized citizen, and let my work, my life, speak for itself.

Well I am an American and I dont agree with you. I mean if you are saying that imagrants cant come here then why dont you just say that black people cant be here. Because its wrong. I think people should have a right to live where ever they want to not where people like you say they have to. To the person that said amen to you they are not a christian. A true christian is suposto love evryone im not a christian and I know that much. I work with a few arabic people and they are the nices people. I like evryone untill they do something to hurt me or someone I love and the only person that has done anything to hurt anyone is bush. He was behind 911 but he said iraque did it so he could get away with going over there and stealing ther oil. Bush and people like you are the problem not immagrants. You can say you dont want them here because they take our jobs well I have a news flash for you there are no jobs here bush has seen to that so now whats youre excuse?

I have thought about this for awhile.
There are many reasons why will will be victorious over the illegals and the people who support them. I want to focus on one right now.
What we have that they do not is spirit. The American Spirit is immortal. If they had the same spirit for their country they would go back and make their country what their dreams are - not shove them down our throats.
When I see mockery of how Americans value their flag, country, culture, soverergnty, language and other ideals and it confuses them or angers them or they psychologically protest or warfare with them, I can honestly say they think they know the American Spirit - but do not.
I chose your question to point this out. They will label you anything but what you are for thier own ends - a proud American. We will not be subdued by anything Bush or the Senate or Mexico want us to. We will not be beaten, we will not pray to false gods and speak Spanish.
We fought every modern power in our history and won. We will not take this sitting down, we will not buckle under your Master Race ideology. The more you push and protest for lawlessness the stronger our will shall grow.
We will unite and fight for what is ours, our country, our flag, our American ideals. No war could ever extinguish that.
You may assemble in great numbers and protest and challenge our laws and change them to your benefit all you want. Ultimately We the People of the United States are our own leaders. We hear you loud and clear - but you will never get the response you expect.
We have surpassed our own revolution, Mexico, Communism, Tyranny, World Wars, civil war and unrest, we have brought down some of the most dictatorship regimes in history. We have faced down Nuclear War and faced it right in the eye. Do you believe that by coming here in droves and flaunting your disrespect for America that you will be able to do what others can't? Do you believe that at no time in history large masses of people have not been ejected out of countries before?
Do you really think that your scaring us? Wake us up to your cause. Show us your true colors. Keep telling us we cannot fight you head on. Keep the hate rolling in America.
Do you believe Bush and his polices against America will stay in power forever? Like the general said in the Iraq war, if you people do not stand down you will see a firestorm like you have never witnessed before - and that firestorm will be the American spirit you so vainly mock.
Keep up the good work in waking America up.

Immigrants certainly have reversed the brain drain in many parts of this nation. New York City is a fine example of a culturally rich, vibrant & economic giant--all made possible because of very liberal immigration policies (and the fact that the City has a long history of creating the infrastructure to handle large waves of immigrants.) I need only look upstate or 100 miles west to places like Hazelton PA to see the economic depression, brain drain and lack of hope. Those places should beg to have people move there. . .not close any doors.

They will give you the same old rhetoric...unsubstantiated claims, and sob stories about how illegals should be given amnesty because they are here already. They will tell you about how there needs to be a screening process, little do they know that there already IS a screening process. They will hide from the truth that wages have fallen in America for the last 5 consecutive years as a result of illegals.

I care about America only. I don't like any anti remarks made against servicemen and women who are Americans and I don't like support of illegal immigrants. The one major reason is that there are laws people need to follow to be here. I like legal immigrants who do the hoop dance and are here because they want to be a part of the greatest country in the world. I love America. I don't know if you know that.

It's not racist. If the Canadians were streaming in we'd be mad about that too. The Canadians seem to be able to respect the border because their semi-non-corrupt government takes better care of them than Mexico takes care of their citizens.
Let me make this plain as can be: I do not mind immigrants. This country was built on them and still welcomes them. Feel free to come on in...LEGALLY. Seriously, anyone who wants to be a part of this country and take advantage of the opportunities presented here, I welcome you with open arms. But come here LEGALLY. I do not see why that is hard to understand.
And don't expect legal documents like a driver's license when you shouldn't even be here in the first darned place!!!

The more they push for their so-called immigrants rights, the more angry the real Americans are becoming. You're right, I have no racial bone to pick with illegals, either. Did you see the article this week that Muslims are the biggest abusers of the loopholes in our immigration system. The mosques are helping them file the paperwork to claim they need protection. So it's not just Mexicans who are breaking our laws. It's the damned "People of Islam", those peace-loving suicide bombers. Delightful!

what illegal mexican immigrants have done is break the law! I love the statistics that came out on their great american boycott in May- Yes retail sales went down 14% but shoplifting went down 86% for that day-hmmm?? Gee-if that is what they are doing for this country I wish they would boycott America full time instead of trying to take it over. I live in Florida-I have myself been on my own great American Boycott-I no longer shop at Winn Dixie, Walmart, Walgreens and several other large retail chains as each one I have gone to and asked for assistance I have been told "no speak english" and am fed up with MY RIGHTS being violated. I should not have to speak spanish to shop in American stores. At the same time-my daughter who is a 6th generation American applied at several retail stores to work while also paying her own way thru school and was literally told they needed to hire a bilingual speaking person on 3 different accounts. Now who's rights are being violated??? That is what illegal immigrants are doing for OUR country! My ancestors came here from Norway, LEGALLY-learned how to read, write and speak the english language, and BECAME Americans. If my Norweigan Grandmother spoke her native tongue in front of my German Grandmother or vice versa there would have been hell to pay as that was the utmost disrespect so they spoke broken english and laughed about that until the day they died. Illegals do not respect us as Americans because THEY DON'T HAVE TO! But then again-how can we possibly expect people who have no self respect to respect others???
And Lillian M-Not very Christian like to like everyone until they do wrong to you-It says we must forgive those who do wrong unto us and to truly forgive means to befriend them no matter what. So what kind of Christian are U? And no I do not profess to be a Christian. Thank you for letting me vent!

Right, I don't think most American object to immigration, what we object to is illegal immigration, where people want all the same rights that we as American pay for in taxes, all I see the illegal thing is just another way for someone to get something for nothing. Pride is a very important thing, Anyone who wants something for nothing has no pride in their self or anything or anyone else.
