In the unlikely event of Britain getting itself embroiled in a modern-day war,where should I move to/avoid till its all over?

You'd damn well stay and bloody well fight. Our grandparents didn't get bombed, our cities didn't get destroyed for some weak kneed, lilly livered wimp like you to want to jump ship as soon as trouble started. You'd live and die like the rest of us and bloody well like it.

Britain, or rather, it's government is involved to varying degrees in many events, but I think you mean if British soil is under a real threat. A great place to move if you like big cities, would probably be some of the larger cities in Canada, that aren't too close to the U.S. border, Switzerland has famously been neutral and kept its public nose out of any dirty business for a long time, and they have very little crime, and Amsterdam as well, I recommend. If you don't like the big cities, your choices are much easier. Alaska and upper Canada is a good place to avoid conflicts, while keeping around english speakers.

The Foreing and Commonwealth Office of the British government has a list of areas that British citizens should avoid. As for any wars, None that i know.
